I don't buy the "innocent mistake" narrative - it's thrown out every time this kind of thing happens.
Nah, he isn't innocent. He just was one of the unfortunates that got caught.

Clean yo **** up, Irving. Beast.

Be that beast, be available. Use this and learn and never look back, only forward. And get some mu'h truckin' sacks when you get back!

Meh... he's not that good the first 4 weeks of the season anyway. We aren't losing any game breaking performances by him for this suspension.
Agreed. DI seemed to show up or make a play on occasion usually late in the game but never consistently effective at the position. If he's playing against a dominate RT, he doesn't show up at all. He looks like he has all the physical abilities but just seems lazy. We need to release these suspension clowns and keep churning FA and the draft.

If he tested positive for andro then I will be upset. If it was for sudafed or one of the over the counter meds not so much.

Any word on what it was?

Release him? Nah. And word was that he was taking his game more seriously this offseason. Practicing harder, more intense regiment, etc.

When he flashes, he's our most disruptive DL. It's 4 games. It sucks, but he'll be back and we will get to see if he's put it together.

Let's pull the reigns back on the "release" of Irving, brudda. For now, at least.

our defense has been so bad we can't release him . Same with the other players. Just have to put up with it.

Cowboys wont release him........but it hurts his negotiating contract position as he approaches free agency.

Sure. But that's a different argument, and one I competely agree with. :)

Not only due to the failed test, but also due to the lack of production he'll see from missing a qtr of the season, Sbark.

The league needs to stop punishing players by making them miss games. It hurts the fans and their teammates more than it hurts the players themselves. Fine them the equivalent of game checks and require them to do off-season community service projects or make them play in the pro-bowl or something.

Then again, maybe the league thinks the problem is initiating with the teams, and that's why the punishment has them missing games instead. That probably *was* the case at one time, but with the advent of FA and the cottage industry around athlete preparation that's sprung up around the league these days, I assume it's the players themselves who are getting into substance trouble and not the team trainers pushing them.

Another reason why you never take OTC supplements. Not regulated by FDA so no requirement to list every ingredient.

Dang, this makes me want to pop a few anabolic steroids, smoke a few bowls, slap my latest girlfriend and her kids if they're around. Then load up my car with AR's, shoot about 6 tequila shots while driving my new Porsche on the freeway, then cruise the strip joints to look for a new "long standing" relationship with my next baby mama.
Just another day in the life as a DC lineman.

I got a little over zealous with him in particular. He's on contract and give him this year to show up. Any more suspensions, he's outa here.
