Sucks to hear that, he's a great player and carried the team all season.

Just sad, what an awesome running back.

If we weren't guaranteed a playoff spot. Elliot would have undoubtedly broke Dickerson's rookie rushing record. But it's all about the team records at this point.

The extra rest will be beneficial to him and he should be hungry come playoff time and..... we should feed him.

The Cowboys were smart about it today.

I applaud them.

Injury can happen by not playing as hard, it can happen in warm ups, it can happen going out in a route. Injuries happen and it's unfortunate for sure but you can't play scared because of it. This is the wrong sport for that
You are more likely to get injured in a game than in practice or warming up at this time of the season.

Sounds good though.

He did NOT tear his ACL. He will be ready for next year.

Initial tests on Cardinals' RB David Johnson's knee showed meniscus damage, ACL intact, per source. MRI on Monday for further clarity.

4:49 PM - 1 Jan 2017

A meniscus tear is not a good thing for a running back. Makes him a candidate for microfracture surgery down the line.

Sure, but it could have been worse. It could be a meniscus tear along with ACL and MCL injuries. I'd still be sweating it until after the MRI results.

Oh no. It's football. Things happen. I hate it for him. But you can't play scared.
It's not playing scared, it's playing smart. As everyone is saying, injuries can happen anytime.

Only those not paying attention won't admit playoff success is largely a function of having healthy players. So making sure our key player is healthy in two weeks is smart. Ditto for Lee, who is the key to the defense. And if we could carry 75 players I bet none of the OL would have played either.
