"It's funny, a lot of people try to make the comparison with T.O. and him," said linebacker Jeff Ulbrich, a 49ers teammate of both fiery pass-catchers.

"But from talking to (Davis), he's different than that. He's got a serious side.

"With T.O., there was something very cold about him. He'd go out there and do something that was a distraction or whatever. And you'd come and talk to him about it, and he would find a way to blame it on somebody else.

"But when Vernon goes out there, for one, he's trying to get better himself.
Two, he's trying to make the team better. And three, I think when he does do something wrong, he understands that he's done something wrong. He takes the blame for it.

"I don't think T.O. ever will."

also from Davis himself....
"Guys like Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates, they're not all-around players," Davis said. "If you look at it, they're not finishing their blocks. They just catch passes. You want to be complete."

So i guess, when T.O. said that he had a bad season, and it was his fault for not being focused, that was his way of really blaming Bill Parcells huh?

thought so

failure reeks from Davis, he will never be great. he won't even be good.
