I havent rewatched it yet but here are my game thoughts

1) I thought Bledsoe looked good other than two throws...shouldnt have put so much air under the long one to Witten...he does have a cannon though...as long as we protect him well he will be fine and we can win with him...definitely a huge upgrade over Q-Bong and ancient VT

2) on the backups, people are kidding themselves I think if they believe there is a huge difference in Romo and Henson...right now Romo gets back into the throwing position quicker and has a nice quick release, but Henson is bigger and has alot more zip on the ball than Romo, he can clearly make throws Romo cant...Henson made the bad throw on the pick but otherwise threw the ball well and wa sundone by two bad drops, Romo and Bledsoe have both had easy ints dropped in both games now too...Romo should have had two picked last night...I wont be surprised if Romo is #2 (maybe even all yr) but Henson has more to work with and is a better potential starter down the road than Romo...the passing tree you could use with Romo as your #1 guy would be pretty limited

3) we are in serious trouble if any of the key OL starters go down with long term injuries...nobody on this roster can play LT other than Adams...nobody could replace Allen or Rivera long term...Petitti looks like he might be ok, but I bet he'll need ALOT of TE or RB help this yr...I am not impressed wth either C right now...Al Johnson may end up the starter but he has not improved from where he was last yr...the backups on this team are really poor...wouldnt surprise me if we end up with two veteran additions before the season opener

4) we are deep and talented at RB, but whoever suggested that Tyson Thompson should be the starter ahead of J Jones is using alot of the same stuff our former QB got busted for...Jones is an elite RB...Barber had better hold onto the ball better than what we've so far...he did run alot better after BP chewed him out though

5) we have 3 adequate-to-good WR's and nothing behind them...like OL, I wouldnt be surprised if something isnt added here...Crowder is a nice special teamer but I dont see how they can keep him at WR and keep him active on game day too...Morgan is as good as gone I think...what a disappointment he is

6) our front 7 is very active and has a number of potential playmakers...not much else needs to be said about Ware...cant wait to see Spears healthy and on the field...

7) our LB's (save or two plays) are pretty lousy in pass coverage right now...I saw Bradie James get really chewed out after a deep slant was completed...appeared he didnt slide into the passing lane as he should have...he isnt the only guilty party though...none of them were good at it...Kevin Burnett probably starts opening day, if not by then definitely not far down the road...Kalen Thornton would be a nice asset if he can get 100% because other than Ware he is the best pass rusher we have from the OLB spot

8) I still dont think the starting FS is on the roster...some of the completions we've given up can clearly be tied to the inability of our FS (no matter who it is) to get into position to make a play on the ball

9) Roy Williams is gonna have a huge yr in this defense, but I bet he got an earful from Parcells over blowing that hit near the goalline on their RB...otherwise he looks good

10) PK Cortez...not bad, not bad at all...McBriar is good as P...but our return game so far has been pretty lame...Tyson Thompson isnt very good on kick returns, and Ahmad Merritt is only average as a punt returner

11) I wonder if Parcells regrets moving Sporano to OL coach instead of bringing in a proven guy...I am very unimpressed with what he's done so far

12) moves I'd make if I were running things...get rid of Tucker, Vollers and Noll...bring in a couple vets to backup at T and G...find a decent FS to start...maybe make a move for an adequate veteran 4th WR...I'd give the young guys the last two preseaosn games to work out the return game thing, if they dont improve I'd add a KR/PR guy

I agree with much of what you say David. Pretty shoddy depth at several spots but that's today's NFL. I wouldn't go to nuts on dropping young guys for vets... this isn't a SB team. If it makes the playoffs I'll be very grateful... I'm thinking it turns out to be a nice stepping stone to '06.

Agree on all points, and Vollers is just plain awful when I watched him. Now I know why BP wont give him a chance at Starting job. He can get pushed by a DB seems like.

And I am with you no Sporano thingy too.

All in all, I am not feeling good about our QB situation for this season at the very least. Nor the OL. Although OL might come around, I have serious doubts about Bledsoe, but unfortunately, don't think other two any chance being good if given a chance to start this year anyway. Romo doesn't seem to have the strength to get the ball in there, on any medium to long variety.

He might excel in a WCO variety though. Although I think I understand why BP is reluctant to name him No. 2, although its clear he is more comfortable in offense between him and Henson. He makes too many mistakes or tendency to be Brett Farvish.

Really love your takes David. While I don't always agree 100%, I appreciate the honesty and thought put into them.

Pretty good analysis, David. If we don't keep Morgan, we've definitely got issues w/ WR depth. You are on the money about our LB's in pass coverage. Pretty shaky to say the least.

I really only disagree with your assessment of Romo/Henson. There may have not been much difference in their play last night, but Romo has plenty of "zip" on his passes when he wants to. I think some people equate his "touch passes" with lacking arm strength. I agree they both had a couple of INTs dropped, but Henson looks almost lost to me at times. I'm assuming Parcells let him sit on the ball with :47 for a reason. I thought both of them played better last week against the Cardinals.

I have not got a chance to watch it yet either however maybe it is just me.

Did that play with Bledsoe/Witten miss just seem like it took forever to develope? It seemed like Bledsoe was waiting and waiting back there.
Now I could say it showed the line pass protected well to give him so much time but still it seemed like it took forever to me.

6) our front 7 is very active and has a number of potential playmakers...not much else needs to be said about Ware...cant wait to see Spears healthy and on the field...

I want to see Fergi on the field and healthy to see if he is going to anchor that middle.

9) Roy Williams is gonna have a huge yr in this defense, but I bet he got an earful from Parcells over blowing that hit near the goalline on their RB...otherwise he looks good

The nice big hit is great every so often to intimidate the opposing team, to hype our own team...but IMO he needs to remember a solid wrap up tackle is better then an all out throw yourself out there hit that may get you a spot on he got Jacked up on sportscenter or completely missing a guy.

Did you read Parcells lips to Bradie? He was saying something like "*** are you doing it's 3rd and 20!" The receiver got behind him for 14yds, luckily was tackeld before the first.

I dont think Roy looked good at all. He not only whiffed on the tackle by the goaline but he tried to arm tackle Alexander and got punked.

This is supposed to be his specialty because we already know he cant play coverage. I dont know, Im dissapointed in whats supposed to be an impact / game changing player.
