As information continues to come out regarding the Tuesday morning incident involving Cowboys fullback Deon Anderson, a couple points should be made for the sake of clarity.
First, Anderson is not accused of pointing a gun at the parking lot valet in Addison, Texas. In the arrest warrant affidavit issued Wednesday, the valet only accuses Anderson of retrieving the weapon from his vehicle, not aiming it. That is much the reason Anderson has been charged with misdemeanor deadly conduct, and not something more serious.
Secondly, it is fair to assume Anderson was not intoxicated at the time of Tuesday's incident, which would have resulted in more serious charges. Officers frequently initiate sobriety tests when alcohol is believed to be a factor in any alleged wrongdoing.
And a final clarification, Anderson is not thought to be currently wanted by police. As of Wednesday afternoon, Anderson, Cowboys officials and the player's attorney were aware of the new warrant released in Addison, and were prepared to pay his bond.
