Mainly on the offensive side of the ball, do the Falcons sort of resemble the Cowboys from the early 1990’s?

With an offense, you’re looking for balance. A running team with big-play capabilities, and mid-range player who can move the chains. The Falcons have all of that.

Matt Ryan is a strong-armed, ready-to-play quarterback with a lot of expectations, but it doesn’t seem to faze him. Umm, wasn’t that Troy?

Michael Turner isn’t the biggest or fastest, but just gets the job done and racks up yards. Yeah, that was Emmitt.

Now Roddy White isn’t exactly Michael Irvin but he’s a playmaker in his own right.

And at tight end, both teams benefitted greatly from a veteran acquisition that becomes a security blanket for the young quarterback. Jay Novacek was for the Cowboys what Tony Gonzalez is providing for the Falcons.

Even on defense, you’ve got a young group of players that aren’t highly regarded, but they seem to swarm to the ball and make plays.

Just from a quick, outsiders view, the Falcons look like a young Cowboys team some 17-18 years ago. Not saying the Dirty Birds will win three Super Bowls in four years – they probably won’t win any. But they’ve got the look of a high-powered, yet balanced offense.

You just killed your own argument, there, Einstein. Eatman has far too much time on his hands.

Now this is just down right dumb. Turner is constanly getting hit in the back field unless he's inside the 10 rd line yeah ROddy is good but can be takin out of a game and yes ok Matt Ryan is good so lets just crown him as the best Qb in the NFL its like everytime I turn around he's being compared to Peyton or Brady MArino and now Aikmen let the kid have moe then a 14 td to 12 int season before ppl start kissing his butt

wait I thought the colts already had stolen the triplets moniker.

Remember manning, james and harrison.

And that worked out perfectly, they won title after title with those 3 and experienced tremendous postseason success.

I don't see Emmitt Aikman or Irvin.

I don't either. I don't even see a start up kit of Aikman, Troy and Mike. I wish they'd quit comparing the Falcons to the Cowboys of the 90's. Start off with something easier. Like Peyton, Harrison and James and even then that's a stretch as well.

Not even close. They might be a poor man's 90's Cowboys, just like Matt Cassel is a poor man's Tony Romo.

While the Falcons OL is pretty good, it isn't nearly the dominant group the Cowboys put together in the early 90's.

Turner and White aren't close the to Emmitt and Irvin. But I have to admit, there are some similarities between Ryan and Aikman early in their respective careers. But Ryan hasn't "done it" yet.

They aren't even close to the same level as the 90s Cowboys. Let's see them accomplish something before they get annointed.

Bolderdash, everyone knows the trio of Grossman, Benson and Hester were the greatest triplet clones in the history of the game.
