The Cowboys are expected to make a couple moves to trim their roster to 80 players on Tuesday, by releasing safety Tra Battle and defensive tackle Casey Tyler.
Battle signed with the Cowboys last Nov. 26 after a stint on the Chargers practice squad. He appeared in five games, mostly on special teams, though he did play in an emergency role against Pittsburgh. The Cowboys were thin at the position late last season but addressed it heavily through free agency and the draft, making the 5-11, 173-pound Battle expendable.
A first-year free agent who was cut by New England last summer and didn't play in 2008, Tyler signed with the Cowboys after the NFL Draft in late April.
Both Battle and Tyler participated in Tuesday's OTA session.
