Cowboys Radio Update
Posted by rphillips at 1/22/2009 12:48 PM CST on truebluefanclub.com
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team still is exclusively negotiating with Sportsradio 1310 “The Ticket” (KTCK-AM) regarding a potential contract extension. The Ticket, Dallas-Fort Worth’s popular all-sports station, has broadcast the Cowboys’ games since 2006.
“The status is that we have a window here, we have a period of time that we are entertaining what our deal is with The Ticket and so we’re still within that window specifically for The Ticket,” Jones said. “That’s where we’re spending our time.”
If a deal is not reached within that time frame, the Cowboys can begin negotiating with other stations. There has been speculation the Cowboys might change stations, particularly after The Ticket announced a five-year agreement to broadcast the Dallas Stars’ hockey games beginning next season.
