The bye week is coming at a good time. The Cowboys they will get most of their injured players back after another week of rehab and treatment.

Two of the guys they'll be glad to have back at their best are Marion Barber and Felix Jones, who have both missed games with quad and knee injuries, respectively. Once their first and second backs return, though, the Cowboys aren't going to forget about their third guy.

One could make the case that Tashard Choice is as important to the team as either Barber or Jones. The Cowboys realize they can't afford to leave him on the bench.

"I think we've got to give him some touches," Wade Phillips said. "We can't eliminate him. He makes plays also. It's a good situation to have. The more players you have, the more guys that can make plays, that's what you want."

Boy I could be an NFL coach...........We'll Choice has played really well with the other guys being hurt and it is good to have a lot of players that can make big plays.........

in fact most people think that having too many good players is a problem, luckily Wade and I are smarter than the rest of you :D

I like Choice but he is our 3rd best running back.

MBIII
Felix
Witten
Roy
Austin

should all get touches before he does. Thats just the nature of being on a team with so much talent. Forcing the ball to a 3rd stringer just slows everything down.

i am sure this is what the coaches are thinking.they will play a hobbled mb3 instead of starting choice because he is supposed to the worst RB we got.this is the kind of moronic thinking that has got us at 3-2.

I agree with you. Choice deserved a lot more chances, and Wade's mentality about not playing the hot hand just galls me.

As opposed to playing a starter who's obviously less than 100%? (so as not to hurt any feelings)

After what Barber has shown the last few weeks, granted he's injured and Felix's inability to stay healthy i'm not so sure he is not our best. Choice might not be flashy but he is consistent

This is something that can not be proven, but I am not so sure that if each were given the same opportunity that TC would not out rush MB3 over the course of a season.

People call one 1st string and one 3rd string, .. who says that is the way it should be? .. the coaches?? .. they have been wrong before.

I would balance their rushes, .. depending on where we were on the field, down and distance, freshest legs, etc.

Wear defenses down with two fresh RB's, and sprinkle FJ in by getting him the ball in space. (pitches, reverses, screens, many screens, dump-off passes, etc.)

Honestly, I'm not sure that I would agree with you then.

I agree that's how things will play themselves out.

But I think Choice is this team's best all-around running back and a player that makes things happen every time he touches the ball.

talk is cheap. the team is good at saying all the right things

this team has said things like this before only to backed off it

""same **** different toilet"

it was blatanly obvious barber was not himself. i, the fans here as well as the commentators were all pointing out the same thing as well as how effective choice looked with his limited touches.

yet despite the glaring need to get choice more involved garrett refused to put him in.

im sure wade observed what we did but this is what happens when you have no backbone and a coordinator with as much pull with the owner as the head coach.

wade probably wanted to but didnt have the balls to say anything to garrett. as a result he just let it be

until barber is and shows he is healthy choice needs to be out there more, simple as that.

This is very simple:

1. When Felix and Barber are at 100%, dont give Choice carries.
2. When Felix and Barber are not at 100%, give Choice all of the carries.

It's very straightforward, yet out coaches cannot seem to understand.

You guys will never be NFL HCs. To be a NFL HC, you must overlook the obvious. ;)

So much talent?

Um...isn't this what everybody rips us on, overestimating our talent, when a guy like Steve Smith of the Giants has been more impressive than either Roy or Austin.

I'll give you Witten. Felix yes, but can't stay on the field. But there's no evidence yet that Roy and Austin are consistently "talented" on this team.

The bye week will help give our injured guys back. While Choice has done a good job for us, I'm looking forward to getting Barber and Jones back to their full (or closer to full...) potential.

Choice likes the extra workload

In the past ten games there is one thing that is clear about the Dallas Cowboys. When Tashard Choice gets touches, he produces. Choice put in another solid performance yesterday running for 92 yards on 8 carries and a score.

"That's the story of my career, huh, just making the most of my opportunities,'' Choice told reporters after the game. ``I got in the second half and got to run the football more and got the chance to make some big plays, and most important, help our offense win the game.''

Choice, who has been receiving more carries due to Marion Barber being banged up and FelixJones being out, should expect him to see his backfield mates 100% healthy in Week 7. That will leave a tough decision for the coaching staff on proper splits between the backs.

"I think we've got to give him some touches," Wade Phillips said. "We can't eliminate him. He makes plays also. It's a good situation to have. The more players you have, the more guys that can make plays, that's what you want."

On the season, the second year running back has rushed for 225 yards on 44 carries. That is an average of over five yards a carry. In his first two games this season, Choice only had four rushes for 18 yards.

Is there enough of the football to go around in Dallas when the three headed monster is totally healthy? Cowboy fans will find out in two weeks.
