lRegardless of the back to back TD runs at the end, there's no way Derrick Mason should have been in the game as soon as he was running with one arm down, I would've jammed him at the line every play until he was knocked out of the game.

So you are saying the playcalling was poor? Isn't that what Wade does?

Wade made a good point. They're 9-1 in the first 5 games of the season in the past two seasons. So, in terms of training camp getting the team ready for the season, Wade's training camp is about as good as you can expect, Cupcake or not.

His emphasis this year is using training camp to get them through the ENTIRE seasons, e.g., by adding more to the playbook early on so that they have more to go to toward the end of the season.

I see it the exact opposite. The reason the team fades down the stretch under Wade is because they aren't worked out hard enough in practice and are not in the best football shape.

There was a stark difference in TB. They were inspired. But they SUCKED against the Giants in NY, B-more, and Philly ... seemed that when we needed them most the air went out of the tires. That fact remains that the mentally prepared D wasn't so hot coming out of the gates.
They didn't "SUCK" against B-more. They had two absolutely horrible, gut-wrenching plays. Other than that they dominated that game.

I can't believe you'd actually refute that the defense made a stark turnaround when Wade took over the defense.

Sometimes you tend to argue the silliest positions.

Actually, you have it completely backwards. If you want to wear your team down you work them hard in practice early and often. Conditioning has little to do with training camp.

It would be nice if AbeBeta would acknowledge that not only was the offense far less productive when Romo got hurt, but they were turning the ball over much more.

The defense was dominating for long stretches of time when Wade took over. Absolutely dominated the Steelers at Pittsburgh. But the offense did everything it could to keep the Steelers in the game and after awhile you'll get beat if you keep giving teams those chances. Extremely rare when that doesn't happen unless you have a historically great defense (or the opposing offense is historically bad).

Silly position? It is a 60 minute game, Theo. If your D can't do it the entire game then they are just teases.

As I noted there were some games where we looked better on D - much better -- but there were too many clunkers to proclaim the changes a success.

How many games does Romo's injury legitimately impact? I see only ONE game -- St. Louis that absolutely should have been in our win column that didn't end up there during Tony's absence.

Again, the D was great in Pit...but again, end of the game, we can't keep them out of the end zone. We let them tie it up with 2 minutes left. Good defenses close. We didn't.
