Groin Injury Is Good News For Dixon

Just ran into head trainer Jim Maurer, who actually almost ran me over with a golf cart, but it sounds like defensive end Marcus Dixon and the Cowboys survived a scare during Tuesday morning’s practice.
Maurer said Dixon has a just a strained groin, an injury that is still concerning and potentially nagging, but should keep him out of action for about a week.
Dixon had to be carried off the field after staying on the ground for several minutes and it appeared to be an injury that appeared much more serious.
The first-year defensive end is trying to earn a roster spot, but it won’t be easy considering he is the fifth end behind starters Igor Olshansky and Marcus Spears, and solid backups Stephen Bowen and Jason Hatcher.
But the Cowboys, including owner Jerry Jones have raved about him all summer and even some into camp. This latest setback should keep him out for Friday’s game against the Titans, but expect Dixon to try to make it back for the last two preseason games.
