Why is the argument being changed as people start to realize that there is no defense for doing the same stupid crap over and over?

If I get suspended for this tackle I'm about to make, then I won't be playing in what may end up being one of the most important games this season. Maybe I should just dive for his legs."??

Again, this is not even remotely the first time he has been fined - in fact the firggin rule IS NAMED FOR YOU. If he can't make the play another way - DONT MAKE THE PLAY.

like I said, we'll see how you and some other people making this absolutely ignorant argument feel when he DOESNT make the play, and cites this rule and its enforcement as the reason...maybe it'll happen in the NFC Championship game or the Super Bowl, and cost us the game

If he wants to horse-collar someone to make a game saving play in the playoffs we'll talk - but right now its more important he be back for the whole game next week then stop that one stupid run.

and thats not what you think about on a play to play basis...its also not his fault we lost yesterday...another group of 11 or so players failed miserably to do their jobs, thats why we lost and now why these next two games are more important

And as others have pointed out if the other team's QB is faster than your SS there are other issues there.

your right it is an instinct. it is just hard for roy to stop doing, but he has to.

Just like offensive lineman (erik Williams) punching guys in the head and linebackers clothes lining wr, te and rb running wide open over the middle it became dangerous, they outlaw it and the players have to stop.

They outlawed Eric Williams move because he was constantly humiliating Reggie White everytime they played. They invented the Michael Irvin rule because he was abusing DBs all day, and they made up this bogus call simply to take part of Roy Williams game away.

Sorry, but the Cowboys, anytime they have a dominant player who has some unique style. they freakin' outlaw it. Wait till they outlaw Marion Barbers hit to the face.

I would believe that, only if I didn't see that he backed off on a couple of horse-collaring opportunities in the game

on that particular play though, that was probably the only way he was going to get McNabb down at that spot

Football is a dangerous sport, played by dangerous people who are blown up to enormous proportions. There are any number of things that are incredibly dangerous. Now, we have a postage-stamp sized portion of QB taht defenders are allowed to hit, and a method of tackling that ensures the runner's progress is stopped by players with strong hands is outlawed.If that's what people want, bravo. Not for me.

Roy violated the rule, he gets what he gets. I just think the rule is bogus. Maybe soon we can get women on the field.
