I guess the fact that McNabb had a huge headstart on RW from where he was coming from, doesnt quite dawn on you does it?

David

Actually, RW came from upfield, and was running almost parallel to McNabb, and closing esily.

But don't let what you perceive you saw sitting on your couch, supersede what I watched live in-front of me, some 40 yrds away.

Ohhh, I forgot...

yeah, go say those exact words to your defensive coach...see where you end up at...its called the pine...your job is to prevent plays
And now he is on the bench anyway. GG

like I said, we'll see how you and some other people making this absolutely ignorant argument feel when he DOESNT make the play, and cites this rule and its enforcement as the reason...maybe it'll happen in the NFC Championship game or the Super Bowl, and cost us the game

Did I not say if it was the playoffs I might think differently? But either way he still has to stop, or they will keep fining and suspending him forever.

and thats not what you think about on a play to play basis...its also not his fault we lost yesterday...another group of 11 or so players failed miserably to do their jobs, thats why we lost and now why these next two games are more important
Strawman. I never said anything about why we lost yesterday. I said Roy is stupid for getting himself suspended.

why exactly?
Because its football, not war.

and complete truth
No, supposition. Something you assume would be true based on nothing but your own biased opinion. Also rather irrelevant.

I'm quite sure that was the last thing he was thinking of...even his own coach said he shouldnt be suspended...I bet we never see another player suspended for this, even if they get multiple penalties or are caught multiple times doing it

David

Nobody else has. Although plenty other players have been called for it, the rhetoric be damned.

Still doesn't matter. If the League officially calls it the Roy Williams Rule and rights into the book "If any player named Roy Williams who is not a WR makes a horse collar tackle they shall be penalized etc etc etc" Then Roy has to live and deal with that.

So now the new argument is it is somehow alright and should be unique to him "because he has strong hands"?

Oh please.

This post is nonsense.

Hooray, nonsense.

well right now there probably are alot of QB's faster than some SS's...do I need to go naming all of them?
By all means, do.

also, if the other guy has a 15 yd or so headstart, you have to be pretty damn fast to catch up, right?
And yet he managed to catch up enough to grab his pads. Maybe another step or two and he could grab his legs?

And remember, we are trying to save McNabb from getting 15 yards more on the play.... by committing a 15 yard penalty.

Your argument is genius.

Roy broke a rule, and now he must suffer the consequences.

What's all the complaining about?!

I can't even believe all my innuendos didn't derail the trainwreck this thread has turned into.

well thanks for sarcastic reply, but here's the video

in it he takes steps the OPPOSITE way that McNabb ends up running in coverage, then has to stop and cut the other way...McNabb is already running full speed, hence the head start he has on him...he does run him down after going parallel, but because of the way RW is running, then having to stop and change direction, McNabb does have quite a head start on him
