Romo Sneak Provides Last-Play Scare
Posted by jellis at 8/14/2008 8:07 PM CDT on truebluefanclub.com

While the two-minute drills wasn't a strong suit for the Cowboys offense in Oxnard, the team showed improvement Thursday. The first unit punched in a touchdown with the imaginary clock running down against mostly Denver's second-team defense.

But the score didn't come easy - it actually had Cowboys officials wincing.

With the clock running out and the Cowboys out of timeouts at the one-yard line, quarterback Tony Romo began yelling, “clock it, clock it,” but instead of spiking the ball to stop the clock he ran in for a touchdown on a quarterback sneak, head first into the pile.

In most situations you love the effort from your quarterback. But in practice? We're talking about practice?

He did say "scare".......but that is just how fast an injury can occur.....A decent backup QB is a must.

Just love Moxie. He wants to win even when it's a practice game against the Broncos 2nd team.

We already have a "Decent" backup QB.

That's debatable.....We'll see. I thinking working with the first team WR's will help.

When I saw the thread title, I figured Romo at LEAST got up slowly or slightly twisted his ankle or SOMETHING. This was indeed a waste of time.

Getting my bagel out of the toaster oven this morning, I almost burned my fingers!!! Whew! Glad that didn't happen.

My wife needs to be getting my breakfast for me so that it doesn't happen again.

I love that he is all about just hanging out and having a good time! But the word "Scare" shouldnt have been in the title

Isn't that the same move he pulled in the preseason game against Oakland a couple of years ago? He drives us down the field, fakes the spike, and scores the winning touchdown on a QB sneak. It was that game where he played almost the entire game I think.
