Jerry-tron is Mat McBriar proof - maybe

A couple of years ago at training camp in San Antonio, Pro Bowler Mat McBriar spent one early part of practice hammering punt after punt toward the Alamodome roof and the scoreboard.

They varied the height as McBriar blasted away. A few times he hit the scoreboard. Most times he didn't.

But with Jerry-tron being some 90 feet off the ground at Cowboys Stadium, there's a thought that it's too low. Jerry Jones said otherwise Thursday.

"This is higher than [San Antonio], so we're in good shape there," Jones said. "We've got all that real comfortably done."

In March at the Owners' Meetings in Dana Point, Calif., I asked the NFL's Vice President of officiaiting Mike Pereira what would happen if a ball hit the scoreboard during a game. He said they would just replay the down as if it never happened.

So you're saying all of the panic over this "issue" is perhaps a little over-blown?

:D

I guess it's official that McBriar has the strongest leg in the league?

Unofficial at this point. Nobody has seen Chuck Jr. kick yet so nobody knows.

Seriously, I am slightly more concerned about the world ending when he kicks than I was when they decided to flip the switch on the Large Hadron Collider.

Not to mention the fact that if it became an issue they could simply raise it 5-10 feet.

I wonder what Jerry would do to McBriar if he busted the videoboard?

Who is this McBriar you speak of?

One punt could bring that video board crashing down. Now, that would be a bad day.

Speaking of bad days...
