Cowboys To Launch Deep Blue Documentary Series Next Week
Friday, August 07, 2015 12:46 PM CDT

The Dallas Cowboys will launch their Deep Blue documentary series on Thursday, August 13th prior to their first preseason game against the San Diego Chargers. This series is set to air prior to each of the Cowboys 4 preseason games. The episodes include The Jason Witten Story, The Jim Garrett Story, and the two-part feature of Quincy Carter and Tony Romo.

Deep Blue is an engaging documentary series focused on the rich history of the Dallas Cowboys. This series take a dive deeper into stories to reveal the untold truths and emotions straight from the players, coaches and front office personnel who lived them. Each story is told in three ways: a 1-hour broadcast show, an interactive online experience on DallasCowboys.com, and a long-form feature article in Dallas Cowboys Star Magazine.

The broadcast episodes may be viewed on CBS 11 KTVT in Dallas/Ft. Worth. They may also be viewed at DallasCowboys.com/deepblue along with the online interactive experience after the broadcast air dates. More information on the individual episodes is included below and promotional clips can be viewed at DallasCowboys.com/deepblue.

Driven: The Jason Witten Story
Air date: Thursday, August 13th
Jason Witten is the all-time leading receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. The ten-time Pro Bowler has had more catches in a season than any tight end in NFL history. While his accomplishments on the field are breathtaking, the most amazing thing about Jason involves a story seldom told. A story of abuse... a story of perseverance... and above all, a story of redemption.

One day we will look back and realize the greatness we got to watch from Witten
I've always thought if you could have 53 guys with his heart and desire you would be unstoppable

I'm very interested in seeing the Quincy Carter episode. What a waste of an opportunity. It's bad when you just can't put the "blunt" down. I did not think he was as good as Jerry Jones thought, but I cheered him because he was a Cowboy. I'm interested in what he has to say about his addiction and how it screwed a golden opportunity. For years after his release, he had many other opportunities in other leagues and ended up not being able to fight off the demons. Charles Johnson, Matt Jones, Blackmon and Quincy are a few that couldn't stop smoking what a lot of people call a casual drug.
