I don't see the purpose of holding out anyone. Players need to play.

We aren't even close to mathematically eliminated yet. Giants play the Pats this week and we play TB. This is coming from a pessimist.....

I have to respectfully disagree with you here.

I have seen people say things like an 8-8 record COULD win the division this year. Recognizing how weak the Division is, we are only two losses away from 8-8 being the absolute best record we can achieve with 10 games still left to play. Two of those games are against Carolina and Green Bay. I am sorry but I just do not see this team as currently coached and constructed going 6-2 the rest of the way. I am not even sure 5-3 is realistic. Trust me when I say that I would love to be wrong and will have no problems eating my own words if it comes to that.

Jerry has 20 million reasons why Romo will play. And if you see Romo on that sideline you can tell he's trying to keep a straight face, but is dieing to go, what the hell were you thinking!!!!

We've got a ways to go for that. A lot has to break our way that's outside of our control from here on out, though. But I agree with you. We just have to worry about going 1-0 right now and the rest will have to take care of itself.

If they lose, I think the Cowboys should really consider holding him out.

There is no chance in hell this team has a playoff run in them at 2-7. None. And exposing Romo to more injury is just silly IMO.

of course he wouldnt hold Romo out he has tickets to sell still during this miserable season and Romo is his only way to do it considering the situation the team is in.

but logic says you play him regardless. we can save him for next season and the same thing happen (he comes out due to injury again) and we're stuck not being able to play with Romo. Forget the window for Romo to win an SB closing... try the window closing for him even playing games. If he is able to play play him. Don't know how many games we have left with one of the most underappreciated QBs of all time.

the hell with SBs and playoffs now man. I just want to see Romo play for one last time even if its one last time. Seeing Romo play is worth its weight in gold. This season has made me way more appreciative of his magic ways more so than I already was and I was on board with Romo and believed in him already (even in the face of millions of naysayers).

This really sucks IMO. If we lose this sunday to tampa then I hope we don't see Romo till 2016. I don't enjoy losing and it's not about a draft pick for me. I want to do 2 things. 1. I want to see what we have in Kellen Moore, personally I'm not a fan of him. But I think this is the year that we look to draft Romo's replacement and start grooming him. Hopefully that's what the plan is, big hopefully on that one. So I'd like to see Moore get a couple games under him to see if has any kind of future. Personally I don't think he does but lets allow him to go under the real fire before we make the final call. 2nd reason, and this is the big one. I don't want to put Romo's 35 year old body out there to risk further injury. I would hate to see a torn Achilles, ACL, broken bone of some kind that would require surgery and risk part of 2016. If we lose on sunday and the giants beat the patriots then basically this season becomes a preseason for next year. No way do I want to risk Romo's health for meaningless wins this year. I would also like to limit Witten and Bryant. Lets see what we have with Escobust and the other receivers.

I know this won't be popular but be honest. Let's say it's december and we're mathatically eliminated from the play offs and Romo gets sacked and bursts a disk in his back or tears his knee up. Or Bryant tears his ACL or achillies, or a back injury. How upset are we going to be about that. Just not a good risk reward situation for me. The reward is we get beat some team like the Commanders and get one more win. The risk is losing Romo for part of 2016 or all of it.

All professionals play to win.

That's called pride, but also intelligence. If one sits on a talent, it gets dull and one loses it.

Saving Romo up for 2016 is not going to happen? Well how about that.

And why should it? We held just about everyone that mattered out of preseason, and for what? They still got injured when it counted. Let em play.

8 games left to play... but I agree with you. I don't think anyone in the division will get 10 wins, but I could see the Giants maybe getting 9. Possibly even the Eagles. I'd say there's about an equal chance that someone will get 9 wins or 8 wins. I don't see 7 wins winning the division. Giants are already 2 away from 7. They're not gonna go 2-5. We basically need to go 7-0 with Romo or 6-1 if we beat Tampa next week. That's very unlikely considering we didn't even look good when Romo was healthy and we play the Panthers, Packers and Jets (three teams that will be in the playoffs).

You don't hold out a professional football player who is healthy because his playoff prospects are over.

Just because you are eliminated from the playoffs, the rest of the league EXPECTS you to put on your big boy pants and go out and win next Sunday. You owe the league, the game, and the fans that.
