You're not going to bring in a rookie who can run the WR route tree and pass protect as well at his size. RBs who catch passes at the rate of 80 catches a year aren't that plentiful.

He's a role player whose value is clouded by the injury. It's probably time to move on, but he's going to be a valuable role player for somebody.

This.

I'm not sure where this "Plethora of scat back" myth is coming from.

I was shocked by the creativity of how they used him.

I like TxTech RB DeAndre Washington. Same height, bigger body. Could be used the same way AND could be cheaper

Ervin from San Jose State is also the same kind of player and can be had in the middle rounds.

To think what could have been if he just kneels that kickoff return 9 yards deep in the end zone...

This.

I'm not sure where this "Plethora of scat back" myth is coming from.

There's a group that likes to pretend people like Dunbar way more than they actually do. It's because before last year they were convinced he didn't belong on a roster because of his talent. Now they go the exaggeration route instead, and pivot to him being too injury prone to be on a roster.

It's easier than just admitting they were wrong on the guy in the first place. He's a pretty good role player who missed his window for a decent extension when he went down last season. Now he's back in year-to-year mode.
