OXNARD, Calif. – You’re going to have to forgive me if it's a cop out, but this whole things feels a little bit beyond my pay grade.

McFadden and morris and smith all rolled in to one is still not zeke
Its not about production in the normal sense. Dak will suffer the most. He had the highest QB rating in the league last year when they ran play action. McFadden or any other back on this roster will not have the same mental effect on the defenses as Zeke does. Its more than the stats. Its the fear and respect defense have for Zeke that made Dak's job easier last year.True but production from the RB position is easy to get. The easiest position in football to get really so it's no excuse for us to not have a good season.

We wont suddenly suck...but in a league where everyone is good enough to beat everyone and the difference between home field advantage and not even making the playoffs comes down to a couple of plays in a couple of games, this loss hurts.
You cannot send three 200 hitters to take the place of a 400 hitter. Plain and simple. Thank you Zeke.McFadden and morris and smith all rolled in to one is still not zeke
What does?It still comes down to having an effective run game.

They aren't garbage bin material either
McFadden ran for 1,089 yards behind this line in 2015 and wasn't even starting until the end of October. Plus, the Cowboys had no passing game that year with Romo out. We still have Dak, we still have the o-line, and we still have hope. And Zeke isn't gone all year, either.

Exactly right.
I don't think Dallas loses much of anything by having McFadden/Morris/Hillman as the rushing attack for six weeks.
What does?
What's effective? MCFadden from 2015 was "effective". That doesn't equal the impact on the game that having a weapon like Zeke does. It doesn't create play action success like Zeke does. It doesn't lead to defenders like the steelers saying you wear them down and beat them up throughout the game. Zeke scares defenses in many ways. That's not just an effective run game.
I also like Rod Smith. Would like to see him get some reps behind the starting line this preseason.
