I like wentz, Connor cook, or hackenburg all for our 2nd pick

Wentz is not going to be there in the second round, multiple mocks have him going as high as pick 7 and pick 11 now.

Connor Cook backed out of the senior bowl because he is scared a bad performance would hurt his draft stock.......I don't like a prospect that is scared to compete or doesn't have the confidence that he will play good against top level competition.

Hackenburg does not impress me...53% completion and only 16 TDs in 13 games......Goff had 6 TDs just in his bowl game.

If this is what we have to pick from in the 2nd round, then just go with Kellen freaking Moore.......probably same results.

Cook has the potential to be a franchise qb man. And he would be available for our 2nd pick. Instead of using the #4 pick with no Andrew Luck there. But hey to each his own

I have never heard of franchise QBs that are scared to play in an all star game.

Cook declining his invite to the Senior Bowl tells me all I need to know..................Wentz apparently isn't scared to compete.

All things have to be taking in to consideration when assessing these QBs, his completion % could be and more than likely a direct result of the talent pool around him (horrid O-line, no stand out receiver, coaching all factor in) While stats play a part in evaluation it ain't the end all be all of gauging a players talent. When given time this guy makes all the throws and reads the defense pretty well. When his o-line went in the crapper so did his stats. This guy will be taken my the Texans more than likely with their 1st round pick.

Wentz have to answer level of competition questions so he couldn't turn it down. Cook is taking a risk not participating but I don't think it would help him one way or the other scouts have seen him enough to grade him. Senior Bowl are for those who haven't had much exposure.

Draft a developmental prospect at QB:huh:

How about drafting somebody that is already pretty good, like, I don't know, maybe Goff or Lynch?

Yea, crazy idea.

Nah, Jerry says Tony Romo can play for another 5 years. Drafting a high round QB would be a waste of resources. Let's get a LB or something.

Kelley Moore is not in the same universe as Connor cook. Yeah I do wish he was playing in the senior bowl but that is his decision. And luckily he can come here and won't have to start immediately, getting time to polish out any kinks he has. If we are able to get Treadwell/Ramsey at 4 and cook at 36 our draft will be great

Sign Lamar Miller and watch him make us all forget about Demarco Murray real quick.

So how do you know they are good?

That is the teams job to figure out. If the team grades either as the next big thing...take him, if not leave him.

I'm sure a few years ago many people thought top 15 players such as Jake Locker, Christian Ponder and Blaine Gabbert were pretty good as well. The dumbest thing a team can do is spend a premier pick on a player just because he is a quarterback.

Everyone is way over thinking this. We have Romo for now, we have McFadden for now. We draft a QB at the 4th overall pick to groom and we draft a RB in one of the next couple rounds. Free agency is not a long term answer for solving these two postion.

So, a #4 pick to sit bench is acceptable? With holes bleeding on D?

Makes perfect sense....

It depends. The draft is not just for the coming year but coming YEARS to come. If the pick is better for the franchise over the next decade then HELL YES.

Let me get your glasses to correct your "shortsightedness".;)

I typically agree but it's not that often a 25 year old proven, talented back with low mileage hits the market. Not to mention, he is a perfect fit for our system. That is what you get with Lamar Miller.

Don't get me wrong, I would be thrill to get Miller. I just see more upside in drafting a player like Ezekiel Elliott.

So, we're a back-up QB from winning? That is shortsighted

Thats ALOT of faith in a yet proven QB @our #4 pick, especially when our franchise wasn't drafted....... Or the guy with 4 currently was a 6th rd'er

We are agreeing to disagree

I'm not wasting a #4 pick on a QB that isn't worthy...... And none of these guys are

I guess we have to disagree then.

I am not putting faith nor playing odd of trying unearthing a gem such as Romo, Warner or Brady in 6th round or later. Chances of that is just little better than playing PowerBall.

If our scouts feel that one of these QBs is potential Franchise type or successor to Romo then yes I would take that plunge and sacrifice the immediate gratification of picking someone who may contribute now. A franchise QB trumps all other positions.

Of course I do not want our FO to reach for a QB who's graded 2nd or 3rd round talent with our top pick.

Unfortunately, this is the same short sightedness that has lead Jones to ignore the QB for 20 years.

Let's not worry about the next decade. Let's try to win now.

People clearly haven't been watching ESPN in the past few years, because sports media has been hyping Goff for years. The kid is legit.
The knock on him is size, but he has everything else.

Lynch is likely a bust though, he has struggled against good teams.

Connor Cook who can't even complete 60% of his passes?

No freaking way.

As far as RB goes... get a guy who can handle 150 carries a season and let him split time with McFadden.

Miller from Miami would be a good choice but his asking price will probably be too high.
