I wouldn't be surprised at all if this year ends up being a redshirt season for Green. Let him get right and work on his strength on IR for the year and then come back and compete for a spot next offseason.

If he was not going to be the to backup OT anyway, then PUP/IR gives them an extra roster spot.

Yep. I expect Weems to the the swing tackle this year and then to see Green competing for the spot in 2016.

I know you think it might end up Collins this year and you could be right. Either way, I just want them to put Collins in a position and let him work there exclusively (for the most part).

I don't necessarily think it will or should be Collins. I just think he should practice primarily at that position unless they have multiple better options. I think Weems might be good, but I don't want to see them put it all on him. Considering that Free is gimpy, they need to plan on a backup for the backup. They were lucky last year because if Parnell had missed any snaps, the backup was Tony Hills. I don't want to see a Tony Hills type player as the only thing between an NFL pass rusher and Romo.

I don't know how much longer that Bernadeau lasts, beyond this season. I want Collins to fill at guard, and have longevity added to Leary's career with him being first up inside for this line.

I am actually intrigued by what is projecting with the talent of Weems, Green, and Gibson as to tackles into the future.

I have the same thoughts on Bernie I can even see him out this year

The acquisition of Collins takes any pressure off Green to immediately show he can contribute. More importantly, the team needs this guy to be a factor in 2016.

A rash of injuries to the starting OL would obviously alter expectations.

Somebody has to be the backup Center. This is the last year of Bernadeau's contract and I think they would prefer a cheap young player to replace him after this season, but they can't short change that position. Having a quality backup Center is critical.
