Courtney Brown Exclusive Interview
By dcfanatic, July 24, 2009 10:31 pm
When the Cowboys drafted Courtney Brown as a CB back in 2007 I was very happy because he was on my ’sleeper’ list going into draft.
Coming from a small school he didn’t get an invite to the combine and that hurt his draft stock, but he was definitely on the radar of NFL teams. I thought he was an excellent prospect at the CB position because of his size and speed.
I wasn’t the only one either, read here.
Then by the end of the 2007 training camp the Cowboys had moved him to Safety and I was left shaking my head at the move.
He’s not a Safety is what I kept telling myself and I kept hearing reports that the Cowboys didn’t think he could ‘turn and run’ well enough to play the CB position at the NFL level.
Well now we move to 2009 and the Cowboys are moving him, for the most part, back to the CB position and I am once again looking for him to be on my sleeper list.
But now it’s on my ’2009 Training Camp Sleeper List’.
Today I had the opportunity to talk with Courtney about the last two seasons and other issues as well…

Watch for him in training camp. Now that he’s back at CB I expect him to do exactly what he did in the OTA’s and Minicamp - make plays on the football while it’s in the air!
This has been something that has been missing from the Cowboys defensive backfield for some time now.
Good luck Courtney!
