Seems impossible? So it sounds like you just don't like the guy so you want to ignore facts to fit your agenda.

How could he, not having been trained at CB in college, come into this league and SUDDENLY be the best at his position, above pedigrees who have trained CB their entire lives?

Dude just is a media favorite, he got beat by Julio Jones for a TD in the playoffs and also TY Hilton beat him last week.

He is no shutdown corner.

Hall gets a bad rep in this league....not personality-wise...can't stand the guy but in regards to as a player.....I always felt he was a decent cornerback. I guess he never lived up to the Sanders hype but I think he's a solid cornerback who for whatever reason gets lucky enough to get fumbles and INT's laid in his lap lol. But as you can see with Dez right now......i'm not even sure if Revis can handle him......only guy I think that can give him trouble is Richard Sherman which is a matchup I PRAY we get to see this season.

What is wrong with you? Every cornerback who has ever played in the NFL has been beaten. Taking sample sizes to make an argument against a guy like Sherman is beyond ridiculous. Yes, he played WR at Stanford his first year or so, but he transitioned into a cornerback his last 2 years, who cares? That was college, now the guy has been nothing short of spectacular playing the cornerback position since he's entered the league. Seriously, just stop now.

Anyone saying Sherman isn't good or isn't the best right now obviously hasn't been watching him.

And to whoever said he wasn't an All-Pro. He was All-Pro LAST SEASON. And there's a difference between that and the pro bowl, other not-so-informed poster.

AND HE WAS TRAINED AS A CORNERBACK AT STANFORD. He started at WR. It's pathetic people on this board can't take five minutes to fact check before spewing crap.

U mad, bro? ;)

Okay, I'm going to assume this isn't sarcasm.

Sometimes you get beat. Happens to everyone.

But Sherman is a 6'3" corner that doesn't have the typical downfalls of a guy his size. He can play both zone and man at an elite level. It's unusual for a guy his size but he's better at zone than he is at man coverage, but he's still better at man than anyone not named Revis.

He plays the right side of the field, predominantly, but when Browner is out, he played the left side equally as well.

He doesn't really have any weaknesses, although smaller receivers typically give him a little more trouble.

He shut his man down... I mean complete and utter shut-down where the receiver had a snowball's chance somewhere between 90--100 times last year on around 400 snaps. For reference sake to show just how ridiculous this is, a normal GREAT year would see a CB shut his man down around 65 times.

So he shuts his guy down completely around 25% of the time and is in position around 75%--85% of the time, and his passer rating against last year was 41, which was 2nd best for guys who played at least half of all the defensive snaps. Casey Hayward was the only person to finish ahead of him, but he played almost 300 snaps less.

I like Richard Sherman too. But seeing him beat Sunday by T.Y. Hilton and giving up on the play didn't sit too well with me. He could of tackled Hilton if he had hustled, but Hilton did a move on Earl Thomas and sprung free for an easy score.

To what do you attribute this improvement? Especially when he plays for a soft-rah-rah type guy like Pete Carroll? A 5th rounder out-performing more experienced 1st rounders like Deangelo Hall? What??

You're a strange guy, haha.

He's a Stanford grad. The guy may act like a fool, but he's an intelligent guy that puts in the work. The real blow is that, to date, he's out performing his divisional rival Patrick Peterson, who was taken in the first round of the same draft.

I dont know. CB is a position that relies on athletic ability and physicality as much as anything else. Joe Haden was a QB in high school and became a top 15 pick at DB just a few short years later.

and Joe Haden

I have a lot of respect for Joe Haden but size-wise I don't think he can do it with Dez. It takes more than size to play corner well, don't get me wrong but the only reason I give Sherman the chance to do it is because of his size and athleticism plus his football IQ at corner.

What's the big deal about Richard Sherman? Dude was not even TRAINED as a cornerback in college. Dude is not even an All-Pro. I think he sucks and just gets alot of press because of his talking smack.

You have to watch him play. I don't like the guy. I dislike him more than any cornerback in this league. But EVERYTIME he talks he backs it up. EVERYTIME. He was a 1st team All Pro corner last year I thought? I've never seen a guy his size be able to do some of the things he does at corner.

The commentary is classic whoever that was lol. I heard Stuart Scott but the other guy maybe it was Marcellus lol.

I can't stand both guys so i'm actually glad that happened. I wish they both would've knocked each other out.
