My prediction now is the season beginning in November. 2 weeks later the toll on players will shut down the season and league.
I can appreciate our love of NFL, you suburban rowdies, but it will take a while.
    Believe me.
    Plan for 2021, not now.

    Hollah!

Big minds consider issues. Medium minds consider events. Small minds discuss others.
Can someone here, mateys, discuss issues without resorting to how your mama's raised you?

A lot of anger in here for a guy simply dropping his own prediction.

My personal prediction is they talk of empty stadiums but someone tests positive and the people on his team and on their next opponent's team will say "wait I don't want to get in a dog pile with covid carriers" and a domino effect of players sitting out will cause the season to cancel.

Here's hoping I'm wrong! I'd love to be wrong, but right now my guess is that we're far from done with this thing. But who knows, I sure dont.

Money talks and the NFL is big money. It might not be exactly what we're used to as far as packed stadiums go, but the season will play out as scheduled.

    That's my prediction.

With all the crap going on in the world, football will lift many a man or womans spirit. Then you come along and crap on that hope. You deserve the invective 10 times over.

I have no clue what will happen. Hoping for the best (full season with or without fans in stadiums) and expecting the worst (no season at all).

The NFL really lucked out as far as timing goes. It hit right after the Super Bowl. They get to sit back and watch how all the other sports handle restarting and learn from their experiences.

Except the NFL plays in the fall right in the middle of the expected second wave.

That’s a worry that no one really knows if and when will come to pass. We can cross that bridge when we get to it.

If Covid is indeed seasonal like the flu - and so far it looks like it just might be - then the autumn won’t be the middle of the 2nd wave, February will be.

All the billions will not stop a virus from infecting teams. I think they won't even make it out of training camp. I can see this spreading like wild fire in locker rooms.

Wish it was like the seasonal flu, here in CA cases are going up not down, might be because of more test or its just not slowing down here

I think there are 2 key factors in play:

    1) More testing will result in more positives, so positives can be misleading

    2) In a country like the U.S. you will always have some region where numbers are up. But the country overall has been seeing a decent sized decrease in daily deaths, and a moderate decline in daily cases. In fact, the Memorial Day weekend death numbers were so low that it makes me wonder if maybe coroners were simply taking a break or maybe the database wasn’t updated and the next few days might be a bit higher than average... hopefully that’s not the case....
