TO never won any SB's, but he was worth every dime he was paid. He helped make Romo into a star and scored it seems like 1,000 TD's.

I agree. I'm not denying that. I'm just saying that doesn't warrant being in the Ring of Honor.

I really doubt Jerry Jones ever reads Cowboyszone, but on the chance that he does it's time to put Harvey Martin in the ring of honor. This man was a Superbowl Co-MVP, and named to the all decade team of the 70's. Sacks weren't an official NFL stat until the 1980's, and Mark Ghastasomething of the Jets. Martin had 23 sacks in 1977. The Gnats and Farve had to cheat to get those kinds of numbers. Not having Martin in the ring is like not having Deacon Jones in the Hall of Fame. Martin was the Deacon Jones of the 70's. It's far past time to give him his rightful spot in that ring, Jerry. Put the Beautiful Harvey Martin in the ring.

My only problem with this post, is that I am not able to "like" it an infinite number of times!

It us unfathomable and truly an injustice that the beautiful Harvey Martin is not in the ROH. The man was an absolute beast and somehow never got the credit he deserved, this is truly a travesty!

For Cornell Green to be enshrined in the ROH.

He played cornerback during his first eight seasons, while leading the team in interceptions 4 times, being named to 5 Pro Bowls and 4 All-Pro teams. Cowboys coach Tom Landry said of Green, "He had the athletic skills from basketball to become a fine defensive back. His only transition was playing a sport where you could tackle someone with the ball, and Cornell never had a problem dealing with that".

In 1970 after Mike Gaechter suffered a career-ending injury, and with the cornerback position needing an upgrade, Tom Landry moved Mel Renfro to play cornerback. Given that Renfro was an All-Pro in 1969 at safety, the move may have seemed to be an odd one, but Renfro was matched with Herb Adderley, and the duo was better than Green and Phil Clark. Green in turn, moved from cornerback to the strong safety position, while the free safety position was handled between third-round pick Charlie Waters and undrafted free agent Cliff Harris.

After the switch, the Cowboys went to two consecutive Super Bowls. In 1971 and 1972 he went back to the Pro Bowl at safety.

Green never missed a game in 13 seasons (1962-74), he played 168 games, including 145 consecutive starts for the Cowboys between 1962-1974. He made five Pro Bowls at two different positions cornerback and strong safety. He is tied with Michael Downs for fifth in career interceptions (34) in Cowboys history.[4]

In 1985, he was named to the Dallas Cowboys 25th Anniversary Team.[5]

might be the best Cowboy player that never gets talked about. Being able to make the pro bowl at two different positions (and back then making the Pro Bowl REALLY MEANT SOMETHING) is incredibly rare.

I'm in comelets agreement.

When he moved from SS to CB..

Followed by Mel Renfro from FS to CB..

Doomsday was created.

You just didn'the go deep on Dallas unless you wanted an int.

They were that good at CB.

Forget Deon Sanders.

In fact..Mel Renfro could take it to the house.

And Cornell would sweep the steps for Mel to come in.

They were awesome together.

Those were the most exciting days, boys.

Yes you know..

I've had my share of Jerry *****es over the years..

And we all are very appreciative of the new stadium and the art work and the new respect he has garnered for the team and himself.

But he has to step up the RoH thing.

I think what Ted Schramm began has to be continued..

this is our heritage and Jones frankly has not done it justice yet.

I get the feeling that he wants to save space to include a majority of his Era players on the Ring.

That's not what it's about.

It's not Jerrah's personal trophy case.

He has to reach back as well as forward with the RoH and honor worthy players for all fans..

young and old to know and appreciate.

It's a heritage only like the Packers, Bears, Commanders and Vikings, Giants and a few others share.

It can't just be narrow in scope.

Bobby Hayes was a step in the right direction..

but there are so many more..

Danny White, Ron Springs, Frank Clarke, Danny Villenueva, Frank Neeley, Dave Manders and many more are part of who we are as a Franchise and fanbase.

Part of AT&T stadium should be setup like the HoF in Canton.

Not to compete with the HoF but to complement it.

For Cowboys fans only.

Hello Jerrah.

Come on down out of the luxury suite and join the rest of us in celebrating being fans.

It won't hurt, bro.

And when you are gone..

Stephen can take over.

Easy Peasy.

Yes that would be a expediant thing to do.
Just remember to not forgett: ROH is rarified air. Our sentimental choice do not counts and only the Staubachs and Emmitts and Whites and Aikmans and Irvins and other football gods get in.
Martin, Cornell and Woody are on the cuspidor. Woody by a hare might emerge but that is it.
