All the defensive NFL teams are either sitting at home our about to get knocked out of the playoffs in the Giants case.

It's looking like Offense will be the reason for a championship this year.

Chiefs and Seahawks are the only real good defensive teams left and even Seattle isn't nearly as good without Earl Thomas.

Defensive DVOA

Seattle 5th. Houston 7th. Pitt 11th.

That's 3 of the 4 wild card winners.

Nice try.

Defensive DVOA of remaining playoff teams -- Seattle 5th, Houston 7th, Pittsburgh 11th, Kansas City 14th, New England 16th, Dallas 17th, Green Bay 20th, Atlanta 27th (average: 14.6).

Offensive DVOA of remaining playoff teams -- Atlanta 1st, New England 2nd, Dallas 3rd, Green Bay 4th, Pittsburgh 8th, Kansas City 13th, Seattle 17th, Houston 30th (average: 9.75).

Pittsburgh is an offensive football team.

Houston is a fraud.
I mean I just told you what their defensive metrics were. You said that there were only two good defensive teams left. And didn't even list the top 3 defensive teams that were left...3 of which have won playoff games.

Nice try.

The Packers won, so half the board will be running scared of the Pack's offense all week. If the Giant had won, half the board would have been running scared of the Giants defense all week.

They were scared to death of the Commanders at one point.

Giants defense just gave up 38 points... Needed more offense.

This is true. But don't underestimate the impact that DRC's injury had on that. That meant Trevin Wade had to take the slot, and Rodgers burned him repeatedly up and down the field. No JPP too.

Giants offensive line is utter crap, and the reason that NY has underperformed on offense all year. And Flowers shouldn't be at tackle, period, let alone starting at LT. He is a guard, maybe. Worst LT in the league.

Such statements are just cliches. Like everything else in life, success in football is about balance too.

I see a better version of Rodgers than when we last played but that defense may be worse. Jordy Nelson being out is not trivial for the Packers or the Cowboys.
It's the playoffs and the only easy day was yesterday.

I think Dallas beats GB by at least two scores next week, even if Nelson and Montgomery play at full strength (which seems unlikely anyway). The Cowboys will run all over that defense, kill them with play action, and keep Rodgers off the field with TOP. Now that the Giants (whom I think have the defense to at least go head to head with Dallas' offense) are out, there is no one left IMO (including New England) that can stop the Cowboys offense. In fact, the only way I see Dallas possibly losing is in a shootout with Atlanta, which may not even make the NFCC, and whose defense is worse than the Cowboys' anyway.
