It's more about how these team's defenses perform in the playoffs. Regular season stats, to a certain extent, go out the window when the playoffs begin. And even more so for the winning clubs. 2011 NYG is a recent example.

Defense wins championships, except when it doesn't.

I wish people would retire that saying.

I think Dallas beats GB by at least two scores next week, even if Nelson and Montgomery play at full strength (which seems unlikely anyway). The Cowboys will run all over that defense, kill them with play action, and keep Rodgers off the field with TOP. Now that the Giants (whom I think have the defense to at least go head to head with Dallas' offense) are out, there is no one left IMO (including New England) that can stop the Cowboys offense. In fact, the only way I see Dallas possibly losing is in a shootout with Atlanta, which may not even make the NFCC, and whose defense is worse than the Cowboys' anyway.

I didn't see but did Montgomery return? That tackle was gross

All the defensive NFL teams are either sitting at home our about to get knocked out of the playoffs in the Giants case.

It's looking like Offense will be the reason for a championship this year.

Chiefs and Seahawks are the only real good defensive teams left and even Seattle isn't nearly as good without Earl Thomas.

I think it's a good idea to not be weak on either side of the ball.

The Packers won, so half the board will be running scared of the Pack's offense all week. If the Giant had won, half the board would have been running scared of the Giants defense all week.

And if the Cowboys win next week, then it will be half the board running scared of the Falcons offense of half the board running scared of the Seattle defense

I see a better version of Rodgers than when we last played but that defense may be worse. Jordy Nelson being out is not trivial for the Packers or the Cowboys.
It's the playoffs and the only easy day was yesterday.

I can't help but think we are much better too. Especially defensively.

Except 3 of the top 11 defensive teams won in the wild card round this weekend....

Texans are trash and Pittsburgh is not a defensive team.

My post has championship in it so I think we can disqualify Houston.

Meh, Dallas was 3rd or 4th in points allowed and NE was 1st. That's what matters.

Oh yeah, and we lead the league in sacks for the month of December! Chew on that one folks!!! ;)

This is were that NY defense got burned by blitzing Rogers. You don't blitz him, you keep him in the pocket and drop players in zone coverage and he will look rather ordinary like our last game with them.

that's what the giants defense did in the first half. then in second half they went man to man and started blitzing him when they got behind. also on offense they just stopped running. the giants were starting to have success on the ground then stopped. I just hope that the cowboys can win the time of procession because if we do not we will suffer the same kind of defeat as the giants.
