Defensive Injuries Far From the Only Problem

Unless the offense that comes out of the bye is substantially different than the one that went into the bye, it won't matter how healthy the defense gets; this team will be finished.

The offense has had one major injury--Brian Waters--and any offense would count itself lucky to lose only one irreplaceable starter (a right guard, no less) ten games into an NFL season. The offense ranks 19th in yards per game, and last night, we saw what happened to their gaudy point totals once the defense couldn't generate turnovers. They scored only 17 points, which has been the story for the most of the season sans the Denver game. Without the defensive touchdown against Minny, they score only 20 points. Without the flurry of turnovers against New York and the long returns Washington, they probably don't break 20 points in either of those games.

Getting healthy on defense would be nice, but this offense must find a way to move the ball and score more consistently. Whether it's Romo or Garrett or Callahan's play calling or scheming, the offense must improve; otherwise, I doubt the Cowboys win the division.

Offense is also down Miles Austin and was missing Murray for a good chunk of games. I read several posts last night about how much the offense misses Austin and how him coming back will spark a resurgence as it will make teams pay for doubling Dez. Not sure I buy that, but that's what was said.......

Miles still runs the same poorly designed routes that the others run. The difference would be negligible with him playing IMO. His asset is that he knows the route tree but if Romo can't get the ball there, it won't matter.

In terms of starter production, it's a wash between T-will and Miles at this point...in my opinion.

Yep if one side is struggling the other side has to pick up the slack.

If both sides are struggling...well...you get what we got.

And we keep seeing the same stuff over and over.

Brings to mind the scene from Cool Hand Luke...

this team is has average players and average to below average coaches the I think I have over estimated the talent by a wide margin garret is in over his head so is Callahan and the rest of the offensive and defensive coaches the really sad part is they have wasted the career of several good players that could of have done better with better offensive and defensive lines jones has always though he could barely get in the playoffs like the giants did and win
it all not going to happen I am so disappointed will still root for them but I am going to find other games to watch because theres not really much hope

Dallas has NO imagination or identity on offense. We let other teams dictate our own gameplan instead of forcing our gameplan on them. We are to way too slow to adjust and the plays take way too long to develop. If teams can take away Dez by simply doubling him and we have no answers, then something is very wrong. Last year Washington blitzed every play and we never made them pay for it. We have been running the same offense for years but it still looks like chaos out there. The other teams seem to know it better than us.
