Defensive Player of the Year Award...

Consider my bias aside,

Demarcus Ware should be the front runner for the award, who in the NFL dominates that side of the ball as much as he does??

1. Demarcus Ware
2. Patrick Kerney
3. Mario Williams
4. Aaron Kampman
5. Bob Sanders

I'd like to hear other names that should be strongly considered for the award?

Don't forget Haynesworth. I don't think he deserves it over Ware, but he's been dominant this year.

Last year's DPOY played on a 6-10 team, so anything could happen.

But objectively, Ware's got all the numbers.

Yeah Haynesworth played well this year too but he's missed like 4 games.

Patrick WIllis is kicking *** as a MLB. Leading all tacklers by 20+...He is only a rookie. Too bad he plays on the 49'ers.

Ware is having a good season, but he won't get it.

But, it's got to be DeMarcus. There's no reason for it not to be.

There are 4 guys with more sacks than him. He has no INT and only 68 tackles. But, I'm not going to convince you why we should or won't win it. Just enjoy having a beast LB. I wish I had him on my team.

Its going to be close, though.

Ware should definitely get it, as most pass rushers are not complete LB's like him and do not have the total tackles like he does. I hope he gets it, and he deserves it, but I wont be shocked if it doesnt. Lack of INT's and a few more forced fumbles wouldn't hurt.

There are 3 guys with more sacks than him. One with .5 more, one with 1 more, and one with 1.5 more sacks than him. But Ware leads all of them in tackles by 17, 21, and 19 respectively.

Does he have to be nominated at least once for DPOW to be nominated DPOY? I don't see where it states that.

It says 5 will be nominated and the fans will choose from that list. Since it is on their site, I think it would be a little crazy for them not to use their weekly nominees.

I could be wrong but that is how I read it.
