Defensive rookie of the quarter: Odell Thurman, LB, Bengals. The kid had first-round ability coming out of Georgia, but there were attitude questions. There has been none of that in Cincinnati, and he has been a big-time player. Runners-up: Mike Patterson, DT, Eagles; Derrick Johnson, LB, Chiefs; Lofa Tatupu, LB, Seahawks; Darrent Williams, CB, Broncos; DeMarcus Ware, LB, Cowboys

It is nice to see that Sportline is see the boys in a positive light...

Nice to see Ware gets some props for his efforts..Just need to pay attention to were he lines up...3 offside GEEZZZZZ

So cal David

I agree the few times I have seen Odell he has impressed me...He has outshined his teams 1st round pick (Pollack sp?) IMO.

I loved Thurman - he was rated in Ray Lewis potential. Both fell draft day but are players.

Patriots had him very, very highly rated.

If we knew we would land Canty a Thurman trade dpwn out of #20 might have been the way to go... but who could have foreseen Burnett's breakdowns
