Ok guys, I think this would be a good thread!

What was the defining moment you swore loyalty and devotion to the Dallas Cowboys? Were some of you converted from another team? Was it a specific player? Let us hear about it!

For me, it was a funny story.... I was like 4 years old, and I DO remember that my older cousin, Sergio had this NICE AND PRETTY Blue with Silver jacket, with a nice Star on it. That became an obsession, so so bad, that my uncle ended up giving me that jacket. The colors seems right and the star was cool. The rest my friends, is history!

My father is a Giant fan and he tried to get me to follow BUT...

The thing is I aways had this little friendly rivalry with him so of course I had to root for an in division rival team...

I saw Emmitt speak at a scholar-athlete convention for pop-warner football players when I was younger and fell for the Cowboys.

I was born and raised a Cowboys fan, there's no defining moment for me because my entire childhood was all Cowboys all the time.

When I was born, the DR. slapped me on the butt and I yelled Go Cowboys!
And that was that!

At least that's the story my Mom tells!

Honestly, I can't remember what that moment was, but I think I was watching a game when I was 4 or something and the stars on the helmet were the coolest thing going.

don't have a "true" defining moment. all I know is, if we lose, i'm in a bad mood, and my wife knows it. it makes it so much harder to get up for a monday morning. I go to work in a bad mood. A case of the Mondays and a Cowboys lose combined, it doesn't get any worse.

On the other hand, after a Cowboys win, I'm on cloud 9. My wife can pretty much get anything out of me. I look foward to getting up on a Monday morning. I don't mind Mondays as much. Nothing in the office can get me down.

Super Bowl V, Colts vs. Cowboys. I announced I was rooting for the Cowboys and got praised by my grandpa, dad, and uncle. I never changed.

I'm right there with you... tears and all.

I was a little kid, but I bled blue and silver from that moment on.

Anything that can arouse that much emotion in you has to be something pretty special, doesn't it?

January 18, 1976. Crying my eyes out after Super Bowl X...I was 9 years old.

As far as I can remember, I've always been a Cowboy fan. Always were my favorite team, but that moment...I remember it like it was yesterday. That's when I knew I would forever be a Cowboys fan.

I cried over spilled milk once.

Too bad I am only 22 and didnt experience all the great let downs AND highs... but I did have to sit here the past 8 or 9 years and watch the search for a QB after Aikman.

I was a "kinda" Cowboys fan up until I think 1998, when I was sitting in some place, waiting for my dad to come back from the gym. I was 7 or 8 at the time, and I remember watching a highlight thing from a Cowboys Eagles game, when the Cowboys kicker kicked the winning FG. Ever since then, I followed the Cowboys as a rabid fan.

It is incredible to see all our stories. Reading your posts, just reinforces the fact that the cowboys are a very special team!

Can't point to any one moment. A random list if you will:

- Issaic Holt absolutely destroying that man-servant Robert Drummond, as Kelvin Martin took the punt back for a TD against the Eagles (1991)

- Alvin Harper's slant against the 49ers (1992)

- Ismail's game-winner against the Skins (1999)

- Jeffcoat returning an interception for a TD against the Giants (1985)

- Steve Pelluer to Karl Powe in that same game.

- Leon Lett against the Dolphins (1993) .... sometimes tragedy strengthens one's allegiance more than anything else.

First time I felt the disappointment of sports.

Ditto, and my son is getting the same.
He has even gone to 3 Cowboy games, one at the Pontiac Silver Dome and 2 at Ford Field.

Yes sir...my whole family is Cowboys fans.

But there were two moments i realized the significance of it. First was when i crawled out of my crib and hid behind a wall watching a monday night game vs. the falcons.

Second, was like 2 years ago. My friend was saying that Kelly, Thomas, Reed of buffalo was a better triple threat than Aikman, Emmit, Irvin. It escalated and i punched him.:starspin
