The reason he is not a fit is because he is not an east west effective runner hes a I formation going fwd ... the scheme Kelly runs is not suited well for Murray

What part of Chip doesn't want an east-west runner don't you understand?

Why do people keep saying Murray doesn't fit the scheme?

He is exactly who Kelly wants and the type of runners he uses in college.

Chip wants to ahead of the chains so that his offense remains multiple in options.

Chip would prefer 3.5 yards every rush play than a loss of 1 then gain of 8 every other run which is hat hr got with Shady. Same average but one gets you off schedule and the other does not.

Murray is a downhill runner perfectly suited for the I formation where he can see the hole and hit it. Playing in the read offense from the shot gun doesn't give him that chance as the RB needs to be able to change directions quickly and often like McCoy could. He's a horrible fit for the read offense.

They would have wasted a lot of cap space and Murray would have went somewhere else anyway.

Ok, but Demarco also agreed to play there. So we're saying his decision was greed only as it should have been obvious to him that he didn't fit in Philly.
since when is getting a raise greed?

You nailed it perfectly. Like mattjames said, if they're going to keep running this read offense from the gun, they're better off with Sproles as their primary back. Chip is too smart to understand that though... lol

"Obviously" you didn't understand my post I'll explained myself a bit better.. If u watch, study, and understand this great game of football you understand schemes formations and responsibilities etc I can go on.... But you can Clearly SEE that the plays Chip ran does not fit what Murray does well.... and theres No where in your initial post that I commented on where you mentioned that Chip Kelly doesnt want an east west runner and Murray is not a good east west runner... So you should go back and read your statement before you start responding you know...... read your own post before you start making statements like you just did..Did I clarify a little better for you?

What's with the greed? You are all lying to your selves if you say you would leave a few million on the table. He's a RB. They only really get paid once.

Exactly, I don't think much of him or the crappy Eagles, but don't blame him one bit for taking the cheddar.

Just saying, if it was about contending, he stays in Dallas. If it was about money, he plays in OAK. He's in PHI because his feelings were hurt. You could see it in his antics Sun night.

Nah, I think it was a mix of more money and contending is why he went to Philly. (It would have to be 100% about money for anyone to go to that train wreck that is Oakland) Of course, he had no idea their offense line was going to be so awful.

I think Deion was on to something when he posed the following question this morning... & I quote...

"Did the Eagle really want Demarco? Or did they just want to take him from Dallas?"

I really think he nailed the ugliness that permeates Chip Kelly's brain. Think about it. Demarco does not fit that offensive scheme. It's highly likely that Chip went to the extreme length to ensure he would not have to see "the Cowboys Oline AND Demarco" twice a season.

One of the only times Deion has ever said something that actually made me pay attention and think about what he said.

It's pretty obvious that his decision was greed only. As it should be. The guy is trying to make as much money as he can in a very short amount of time. So I don't fault him for getting his money.

Even if it does mean that he was willing to go somewhere that he had to know wasn't going to be a fit for his style of play.

Demarco is not good at reading blocks out in space which the Chip offense does withits pulling lineman leading the way around the end, it can be hard to visualize where the crease will be. Sort of like what Minny tried to do with Walker when we traded him.

Yeah but winning brings more spoils....and winning while your playing for the #1 rated sport franchise in the world comes with perks and endorsements....so it should balance out......

I'm not so sure OAK is going to end up with all that bad a team this season. That David Carr might be the real deal.

Either way, you could tell from Murray's behavior on Sunday that he's still hurt that the Cowboys didn't want to overpay to keep him. He went to PHI for the chance to stick it to us (though I'm sure the money and the team around him were factors, too). And so far it's backfired on him.

As for Oakland, I'm pretty sure they weren't expected to be better than the Eagles when Murray signed with them. Really though. This is all just speculation. I completely believe that Murray wanted to stick it to the Cowboys. I mean who wouldn't want to if you got low-balled by your team you worked so hard for?
