Did anyone else catch the trio of Deion, Rich, and Steve doing the Pre-Game show on the NFL Network last night?

Appearantly they are the three who will be calling the games when the NFL Network broadcasts games.

I do not know what the they were thinking when they hired Deion. He is horrible. HORRIBLE.

He is loud and obnoxious, and he laughs and giggles at everything.

Thoughts?

More often than not I find Deion grating and insincere when it comes to commentating.

He is the reason I quit watching CBS (or whichever one he was one) Pre-game show.

Used to flip between that, fox and ESPN shows...but when he came on board I quit watching that one.

Actually, Bryant Gumble and Chris Collingsworth will be calling the games for the NFL Network. But these three you mentioned will be the studio hosts and will also host the league's new highlight show called "NFL Gameday" on Sunday nights after the NBC game concludes.

Okay, thanks. I can avoid watching half time shows and high light shows . . . but it would have been annoying to have to watch an entire game with the sound on mute.

I love prime. He's energetic, and tells it like it is. Not afraid to go against the grain. I love marshall faulk as well. It seems he's been doing this for years.

I agree. He doesn't care about being political or being liked or anything, he does what all of us should do, speak our mind.

Deion is one of the worse commentators. He is too slick for television. Doesn't really add much substance to football analysis.

Yeah, I like how he commented on Deion Branch's situation in New England.
Deion said that Branch commited a Cardinal sin in holding out when he has Tom Brady as his QB. What a load of crap. Deion always got his. He has no right in discussing another man's right to get paid!

Deion is paid to go against the grain, that's his role on that network. To get people talking about the show.

Totally agree about Faulk though, he's a natural.

Deion is all about shock value. Did you see that horrid pimp suit he was sporting? Just awful.

He can be any worse than Shannon Sharpe.

I think you meant "He CAN'T be any worse than Shannon Sharpe."
If that's what you meant, then I'd agree. Shannon Sharpe just looked for every opportunity to give himself praise or say that so and so wasn't as good as him. The pregame show couldn't contain his ego and stratospheric narcissism.

Deion doesn't do that, he's just flat out horrible at commentary.
Most of these guys they hire only know about themselves and not as much about the game, esp the non-QBs. Frankly, there aren't very many that I can stand to listen to. Thus, I don't watch pregame shows period. Whatever player or team is overhyped, it'll just be a continuation and extension of that.
Rest assured TO will be behind the desk at some point....

Deion's raspy voice and his mannerisms turn most folks off. He wants to be brash and controversial, stir things up. Liked him much more as a player. Personally, I dont like his on-air persona and his suits and accessories hurt my eyes.

Shannon Sharpe is awesome, what's all the hate for. Four guys all being nice is lame. You need that one Shannon Sharpe there to be blunt and to the point without all the sugar coating. He tells it like it is and isn't afraid to do it. You don't have to agree with everything he says, but it's better to have that viewpoint given along with the sugarcoating from the other people to me.

Yes I meant can't be as bad. He may have good points if you could understand what the heck he's saying. He has something in common with his brother. They both can't stop talking about themselves.

Me three, I think Deion is refreshing because he isn't going to agree with all the talking heads all the time. He played the game, he knows the game and most of the players and he knows what it takes to be successful, unlike guys like Bob Costas who is everywhere, yet knows nothing about football.
