You got to pay Dez. It shouldn't even be a discussion between Dez and Murray. Murray has fumbling issues, case closed. Dez is a constant threat every down weather he even touches the ball or not.

The odds were stacked against us:

- mistakes
- poor situational awareness by Garrett
- exploited D
- poor playcalling in crucial downs

Heck, Rodgers made the play on 3rd and 15.

I think it is time to move on from Murray. Would prefer a younger and cheaper option for 2015.

Cant ask for the $$$ when you're fumble prone. We need Dez more (even if he does makes questionalble decisions at times) so he's probably going to be somewhere else next year.

Murray seemed to drop of in the last quarter, so I won't be too sad if he's gone.

Fumble or not, let someone else overpay him. Having said that, Randle is not the answer if Murray is let go. Thankfully, this draft is deep at the RB position.

He's been sloppy carrying the ball all season and its was only a matter of time before it would cost this team.

Randle and Dunbar will not be enough next season. They are change of pace backs. Neither can pound the rock and take a beating the whole game. I don't think so anyways and Dallas will need to get a bruiser if Murray leaves.

I don't care if he stays or goes but those other two can't carry the load like Demarco. I think AP will be cheaper only because of what happened but I also don't see the Vikings releasing him.

A rookie, or Randle is not the answer. Don't overpay for Murray and his fumbling self, but can't rely on a small and slow Randle , or a dumb rookie either...

As much as I love Murray, you can't throw max contracts at RB's with fumbling issues. They already have a short lifespan as is. I hope we give the money to Dez (he deserves it), and use the rest on other FA's at positions of need. We wouldn't be able to replace DeMarco's production, but with Randle and another RB (likely via draft), I think we could still be really good in the run game.

I don't agree. Mistakes are made but that one play wasn't the game. I want Dez back so unfortunately D Murray will be gone but what a year! Go Dallas!

True but that one play completely changed the momentum of the game. Just can't give it away in a 1 score game in the 2nd half.

Had he not fumbled it, it looked like he might have gone all the way.

Well, that S way down field would have been an irresistible magnet for him. You know he can't turn down a chance to go low on a lone defender in open field. :)

But, yeah, he might well have. That was a backbreaker.

Not following your logic at all. Like 80% of the backfields in the league, it will be some sort of a RB by committee, but there's certainly nothing wrong with going into the season with a rookie as your primary back. If you're going to go out and pay a FA, you might as well cough up the money for Murray. This draft is about as rich in RB's as you can ask for.

By the way, there's nothing "small" about Murray. 220 is plenty big for an RB by any standard.

Murray really looks like a shell of his former self and is not anywhere close to the back who starred for us as a rookie.

I think he has already been worn down and is just a mediocre back who is very physical but with poor vision and almost no burst. He is a dependable receiver but not explosive in space. He is a good blocker overall but will not infrequently make the wrong read when blitzed leading to sacks.

He is not worth paying. Just take the compensatory pick and draft his replacement. Randle and the draft pick will do fine next year behind this OL and Dunbar can be the COP back.

IMO, Murray's hot start put us in a bad situation because Linehan fell in love with him and ended up under-utilizing Randle and Dunbar all year. If he made better use of the backups Murray probably has more juice to end the year and the backups would have been more trusted to pick up the slack after Murray's injury.

Anyhow, the main focus should be on improving the pass rush and defense. RB is way down on the list of priorities.
