Defense with the first two or three picks and an RB with the next. Let DeMarco get paid and go fumble in Cleveland.

We don't have a great defense as you can see here today. But we did everything correctly. Sometimes the refs have to do their job and make the right calls. That should not have been reversed. Bad call on the refs.

Murray fumble was huge but he did run better after that. He plays like he is more motivated when something bad happens to him.

With all that said, Dez is the guy we have to sign but I don't want Randle as the main back. if Murray walks, there will be good running backs that needs to be on a team.

Not following your logic at all. Like 80% of the backfields in the league, it will be some sort of a RB by committee, but there's certainly nothing wrong with going into the season with a rookie as your primary back. If you're going to go out and pay a FA, you might as well cough up the money for Murray. This draft is about as rich in RB's as you can ask for.

By the way, there's nothing "small" about Murray. 220 is plenty big for an RB by any standard.

Sorry that should have read small and slow Randle...

He's never had a fumbling problem until this year and hadn't fumbled in the last 9 games and fumbled when one of the best athletes in football in the last 20 years made a phenomenal play.

I'm not saying give him a giant contract, but we would be dumb as dumb can be to not try and re-sign him for a good deal.

They should absolutely try and re-sign him, they'd be crazy not to, but there's no way in hell that they should go out of their way to make it happen. I'd like to think that the Cowboys learned their lesson with the whole Barber III debacle. Murray had a great year, but he's not a special talent like Lynch or Peterson.

I would take Murray over Peterson. Peterson just isn't much in pass protection or receiving.

Barber was a different tailback. He was never the starter and they wanted him to be the starter. And he relied on being a punishing back instead of being elusive. I still think re-signing Dez is a larger priority, but I want Murray back as well. I think it really comes down to how long the contract is for. And I would hate re-signing Dez and franchising Murray.

Fumble was ball game. Pay him the vet minimum or slam the door behind him.

Yes that fumble really turned the game. Wd were going up 15 there

Murray is going to have injury issues next season

I don't want to resign him

We'll have to agree to disagree on Peterson vs. Murray.

Murray will likely want to be amongst the highest paid RB's in the league, and rightfully so. I'm not comfortable being the team that meets those demands, especially with a draft this deep coming up. We have far too many players going into free agency this year to break the bank on both Bryant and Murray.

It's not like Peterson hasn't had a fumbling problem in his career.

I think in his prime (which Peterson is past), Peterson was the better pure runner. But, he is lousy in protection and as a receiver. That's why the Vikings drafted Toby Gerhart and took Peterson out of games on 3rd and long.

Every team in the league finds ways to keep guys on their team thru signing contracts and restructuring deals properly. I don't know why we can't.

Not going to comment about his future right now (though vet-minimum is, of course, ridiculous), but that fumble was a backbreaker today. A bigger play than the overturn, even.

That play and the play calling before the end of the half was huge.

We were only up 4 but we were definitely on our way to another score. Murray may have scored on that run actually. Anyway, that play was all about losing momentum in the 2nd half of a tight game. The Cowboys didn't fall apart but the turnover gave GB life.

I do agree that you have to question how long he can be effective after such a grueling season. There are examples of guys falling off a cliff, while a few have sustained their effectiveness. It's a tough call to make.

I could say the Bailey missed FG was the play that turned the game. I am not sure one play but a culmination of plays.

It has nothing to do with our ability to keep him, we have the ability to do so, but at what cost? Of all the positions of need on this team, RB is the easiest to fill. If letting Murray walk means that we can re-sign 2-4 of our second-tier FA's, you let Murray walk and replace him via the draft.
