DeMarcus Lawrence getting rave reviews

All good and thanks for your kind words

TBH I really enjoy good debate and discussion and sometimes it will get animated and so on, but its a large forum with folks from all over the place with varying views on almost everything

You never need to apologize or justify having a different viewpoint from me, or anyone else

State your case, I'll state mine, maybe we agree on some things and disagree on others but at the end of the day, the only folks who really rile me are the folks who demand that everyone see it their way and they will question your fanhood or verbally attack you if you disagree with them

Other than that I just enjoy the chaos that this board brings sometimes. It's highly entertaining and often therapeutic if you approach it from this perspective. Have a great finish to your weekend friend. Good to chat with you
If we had more people like you, this place would be enjoyable. I come here for all the news updates regarding the team because some posters are great about being on top of that stuff so I'm super thankful. There's a few others who I genuinely enjoy, they know who they are, otherwise, I don't post/reply much because most topics are derailed with over the top bs. Thanks again for the logical thoughts.

He is on a defense that has better surrounding players.
He never has had that in Dallas.
Matter of fact, none of the top players on defenses in Dallas, has ever had decent surrounding players in over 20 years or more.

That is why there is a difference.

Look at Ware, he went to Denver with an already top defense and had players like Von Miller in his prime there.

How much of a difference did Micah truly make in GB so far. Remains to be seen actually.
just like how much will our defense improve with the trades with Micah, and the draft picks, and Q. Williams and a new DC bring. Remains to be seen.
mr Jazz--- in my opinion i like our chances and was so happy to get Q and 2 first round this year....heard it said this year deeper

on Edge players which works for us??

That's what happens when you surround a talented player w/ talent. Stupid Jerry.
It isn't just that - it's surround with talent and hold them accountable for delivery. That second part is what people call culture which is non-existent for the Dallas Cowboys.

Yup. Sure could have used his playing ability and leadership in the locker room. Hindsight 20/20 but he was pretty solid here.

"Dallas is my home. Made my home there," Lawrence said. "My family lives there. I'm forever gonna be there. I know for sure I'm not gonna win a Super Bowl there. So, yeah, we here.

Dallas also did not offer him a contract. If they had offered him what Seattle did, I'm pretty sure he would have stayed because it's home.

Not saying they should have made that offer, just that for players, it's not all about winning a Super Bowl. He didn't go to Seattle because he knew the Seahawks were going to be a contender. He went for the money.

I'm happy for him that he's getting a chance to play in an NFC Championship Game, and I'll be happy for him if he wins a Super Bowl. That's the cherry on top.

Yeah I’m a fan but you aren’t wrong. He contributed to this crap and didn’t get motivated until he left.
I would agree that he contributed but the number of times I saw that dude out there chasing plays down from the backside or playing on one leg or that one season he played the entire year needing surgery tells me you got that last part wrong. It may well have been that at the end, after seeing so many guys out there not hustling, not caring, doing podcasts instead of studying film, he gave up himself and needed a change of scenery to get om the back to his own dawg mindset.

Lawrence is a perfect example of why we need to nail the defensive coaching hire. You can see what great coaching can do for a player.
It isn't just the coaching, though. In Seattle, Lawrence is just a piece of the puzzle. Offenses can't scheme to take him away. When you are facing double teams or chips regularly because teams don't have to worry about the tackles or you lack another pass rusher, it's hard to shine.

I mean, one of the reasons our pass rush was what it was under Quinn is because we drafted Micah and were able to pair him with Lawrence. We still had trash at tackle, but we had two tough to handle pass rushers. We weren't good enough elsewhere, but those two ends keyed our ability to get to the passer.

Fans aren't getting it as usual. It's about culture, and the cowboys culture is Jerry culture, and that's not a winning formula in the NFL. So when they get out of JERRY CULTURE, they actually win important things. Anyone thinking of coming here does not want to actually win a Super Bowl, they just want to make money and have a good time.

One can only hope he doesn't get "tired" in the playoffs......again.

His words, not mine

DLaw is a prime example of the effects a winning culture has on a player performance. A poor culture with no accountability breeds complacency, which we saw from DLaw during his last few years in Dallas. Then fast forward to playing for a coach instilling a winning culture and accountability; not to mention some talent and one gets a player transformed.
While talent is crucial to success in the NFL; I think one sees the importance of the intangibles such as leadership, culture and coaching impact a team’s success or failure. Jerry being the seasoned owner and general manager has yet to learn that lesson and probably never will.

With the dawgs he's playing with he can't. Nobody cares about letting soft players like micah and diggs down. Earnest Jones gonna let dlaw get tired? witherspoon? Leonard Williams? Etc etc.

I’ll always be a fan. It was time to move on and I’m not entirely sure if we didn’t get similar production from Clowney for a fraction of the price. But this place disrespected the hell out of Law. I couldn’t believe it. I hope he gets a ring he deserves it.

Let me also say that he too was a big part of the underachieving product we’ve seen. He needed to go to Seattle to get motivated around the motivated individuals and coaches.
Totally agree, figured a 33 year old was on the downside of his career and it was time to turn the page for the money. Even if he was here I don't know that the season would look different for the Cowboys and to your point Clowney's production was similiar.

I think it was best for both parties to move on and don't blame the Cowboys for going another direction.

I agree. I don’t get why people never look at it that way. They always go the route of “the one who got away”.
