Demarcus Lawrence rising? who else?

I feel one of these 2 guys will be the pick (if we lose out on Donald and Barr). Here's what I posted yesterday in the Dee Ford Mock thread:

Dee Ford and Demarcus Lawrence are the only "quick twitch" DE's after Clowney, Mack, Barr. Remember, Marinelli apparently did not want Sharif Floyd because he was not a quick twitch 3-technique. I think that will be the same philosophy at DE. I would be happy with Ford or Lawrence as our 1st round pick if Donald and Barr are gone (and we decide not to take Zack Martin). They are pure edge rushers. Kony Ealy and Scott Crichton are not, and simply do not fit Marinelli's mold. Mark my words, Ford will be the second-coming of Elvis Dumervil, who had 17 sacks as a 4-3 DE for Denver in '09 and around 10 sacks each year since. I can deal with him being a semi-liability against the run for that type of pressure.

Every year at this time there are so many "rising up the board" players that if added together there would be 100 players in the 1st round.

Hey X, have you looked at Marcus Smith at all? Quick off the line, diagnoses the run well, sets the edge pretty good for a guy who is a similar size as Ford and Lawrence. Productive player in TFL and sacks. Showed progress as a rusher even in a limited role his first couple years at Louisville. AAC defensive player of the year. Someone to keep an eye on. Also, since I have your attention, what are your views on Russell Bodine OLineman from UNC?

Lawrence is not quick twitch, by any means. He's kinda methodical to be honest. Ford, I think he's a OLB and not a DE.

The guy who could slide a bit that nobody is really talking about is Jeffcoat IMO. His athleticism at DE is just shy of Clowney's. He could end up being a steal.

My pet cat RB Terrence West is starting to move up. I've seen him as high as the 3rd round on at least one board.

I like him at some point in the draft. Probably in the 3rd or 4th. He has very good quickness/athleticism and good length. I recall most of his sacks/pressures came from moving around the line and not getting blocked. I don't recall him having many pass rush moves or being good at fighting off blocks with his hands.

Bodine is very strong with limited quickness and shortish arms. I think he will be in the NFL for a long time but probably never a great player.

Nobody who wants to keep his job is taking Tom Savage in the second round.

Someone took Christian Ponder,Brandon Weeden and Jake Locker in the first rounds. Taking the Savage Kid in the second (as crazy as it sounds) would not shock me in the least.

yea, I'm kind of just looking for some mid to late round players. Smith has a lot of potential, but needs some work. I wasn't overly impressed with him until I looked at his past production in his prior years. Def lacks some pass rush moves and does rely on quickness. As for Bodine, he probably projects to guard and will probably be a backup in the league for awhile. Could develop into something more. Someone I'd consider late

Dane Brugler's guide has Lawrence as the #2 DE with a 1st-2nd round projection.
