ben had concussion and been overly confident saying he will play (doubt he will)

their backup (??? forgot his name) broke his hand - out for 6 weeks

Dixon could play - Dixon came out Week 17 vs Cleveland in 2008 season. He sucked.

Thanks. Knew it started with B lol.

I think Ravens will eat Dixon alive even though he's probably prepared for them 3 times last year.

yes, he's starting per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Roethlisberger experienced excercise induced headaches after Wednesday and Thursday practices.

Charlie Batch had wrist surgery this week and is out for at least 6 weeks.

Dennis Dixon is the starter with Tyler Palko the backup if doctors determine Ben should not suit up pending their examination Saturday afternoon.

I liked Dixon at Oregon...

It'll be interesting to see how he does against the Ravens. While I don't think he'd work in most pro offenses, I could see him having successs in a Vince Young kind of role...

Yep, saw that too. It has been mentioned as well on the NFL Network per LaConfora (John Clayton's younger twin).

I told my wife (a big Steeler's fan) and she was pissed. :laugh2:

Go Ravens.

Their offense is in serious trouble without Big Ben in there. That will make their already very average O-Line look even worse without Ben back there to avoid sack after sack after sack.

This should be a W for the Ravens.

I love how the Steelers were all concerned about concussions and the health of their players, til it dawned on them they are down to their 3rd string QB and said screw it we gotta try to play Ben.

That is sooo funny.

I know the season is far from over. And the Steelers have been known to turn it on late in the season. But I'm beginning to think that these cocky fans need to put away their "Stairway to Seven" T-shirts that were made up in the offseason.

Yeah, cocky and pathetic. :steelers:

They don't have have the line out for that game. I tried to take it early and they don't even have it available.

I'm going to guess the Ravens will give 13.5 now.

I'm more interested in two different view points in this Rothlisberger situation.

1.) Why the hell did Little Ben wait til Friday to make his decision and hang his team out to dry. The Steeler management could have gotten someone in on Monday, like Garcia, who then would have a week to get some plays down and at least manage the game for a week.

2.) Why the hell didn't Steeler management go after someone on Monday. With the uncertainty of Ben's condition and reliable Charlie Batch down for 6 weeks how does Steeler management allow themselves to fall into that hole? Rolling a rookie QB out, 1st NFL game, against the Ravens who are about to bring down the thunder with their playoff lives on the line?

Something more is going on here...and my money is on Pittsburgh management really pressing for Ben to go out there and play with what is on the line this weekend. Something is dirty here.

Regardless, I enjoy anytime the Steelers are in peril.

BEn didnt make this call, this was a desperate Tomlin who realized they were down to their third qb and didnt want to go into the game with him and said Ben was playing knowing what Ben is going through.
