Our best "all around" FB since Moose was here. Soft hands to.

Catches/blocks and runs real well. Kid will only get better.

Good pick for Dallas.

He can't block for crap.

very true...running game works a lot better with Hoyte in there, but anderson is very valuable with his hands.

He is a rookie and he is looking better every game he plays in.
I think is going to be a very positive impact on this team for years to come.

he does catch the ball really well...moves pretty good for a pure FB too...he definitely adds something to the base offense over Hoyte, because Hoyte is absolutely no threat to catch the ball (or run with it should he happen to actually catch it)

I do think Hoyte is still a little better blocker than DA, but his blocking will get better with time...he was a solid pick

the difference between the two is Moose went down as soon as he was touched.

The key to Cowboys fans hearts: Catch 6 passes in 7 games and eat a cricket.

Apparently being good at your position (blocking is what fullbacks are supposed to do, no?) isn't required.

well he is only a rookie. and a higher round pick . did you expect him to bust off 5 tds and have tons of catches. he didnt even start the first game.

I expected more before people compared him to Moose. Not to mention I think he's the 2nd best FB on the team, so he can't exactly be the 'best since Moose.'

He looks to be a good all-around FB prospect. Of course he needs to get better at blocking, most rookies do.

2nd best? All Hoyte does is provide a decent lead block. Throw him a pass and the adventure begins. Anderson has been solid on special teams also.

Hoyte is to pass-catching as Anderson is to blocking. He's that bad.

Seems to me that a fullback blocks more than he catches.

It also seems strange that everyone thinks Anderson can improve on his blocking, but Hoyte can't improve on his receiving. Maybe he should eat a cricket.

Even Wade said after the game that Hoyte was one of the guys we needed to get back.

I am happy with the way Neon catches the ball and runs with it, and he's definitely gung-ho about the game. I just think we'd look a lot better running the ball with a more traditional lead fullback.

Witten and Fasano both block better than anderson. Hoyte blocks better than Anderson. We need blocking more than we need another pass catcher out there. I think we've got enough targets when we have TO, Crayton, Witten, Fasano/Hurd out there. It's a question of need.

Hoyte/Fasano > Anderson

I like the guy, but when you're playing the fullback position, poor blocking is inexcusable. He'll get better with time, and if he gets "much better", then we can talk about him contibuting with the likes of Moose (and even R. Anderson).

Richie Anderson could run and well. He wasn't a FB. He was a big RB who could block reasonably well.

This kid needs to pick it up but I'm glad to see someone who can catch the ball and run with it without falling down.

Hoyte's injury worries me. Better hope Deon learns to block better; at least this year.
