Thorpe winner to return to school … Iowa junior CB Desmond King, the winner of the 2015 Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to the top defensive back in college football, has confirmed through family sources that will pass on the chance to enter the upcoming draft and instead will return to school for his senior season next fall.

I'm surprised. For a guy that doesn't have elite measurables, I don't know if he could have had a more solid campaign this season. It's hard to improve on a year he had that resulted in the Thorpe award.

I had him as a mid 2nd rounder as of right now, from what I know. Ball skills, probably the best tackler in this CB class. I liked him a lot.

Dont really understand the decision. If he wants his degree, go back later. Injury can hurt his stock considerably. But then again, he is a talented player on a major college campus. That's a pretty solid quality of life not many experience.

Well this is his mom describing it:

“He said he wants to go out in a good way and not in the way where he came from a loss. He wants to win … He came to me and said everything I was hoping. Everybody’s surprised. It’s not about the money all the time. The money is going to be there. He has more chance to make more with a degree.”

Dude's a mass comm. major. So... No.

He also does realize he goes to Iowa right? They had a phenomenal season, sure. But in no world are they competing for a national championship.

Between the bounty of riches resulting from a mass comm degree and the road of glory paved for the Iowa Hawkeyes next season, I'm becoming suspicious he might even be able to pass Claibornes brilliance on the Wonderlic.

That and his mother is doing the talking for him. Sorry, never really cared for that.

of no concern to the cowboys unless we are switching to a zone scheme, either way receivers will still be wide open unless we get 3new dbs
