Is there anyone here who doesn't want to see Dez and Richard Farrakhan on an island inside the red zone? Just as a fan of the sport this is the kind of matchup you love to see

In the red zone - yes, because it's probably the only time you truly will get a 1-on-1 matchup on Sherman without S help.

For the record, I didn't get that vibe from the whole article. I snipped the paras to focus on the questions. Overall, he was pretty complimentary of Dez.
I felt the vibe.
“Is it fair to say that the old Dez might’ve jumped in here and talked trash to get a little something started?
Why ask the question if the person asking it already acknowledges Bryant's maturity?

A jump ball would be fun. Sherman is taller, but Bryant is the master at catching the ball at its highest point. The smarter play might be a slant. Dez can out muscle Sherman.

Agreed. Bryant could do some damage off the slant. Romo and Bryant's timing has been good on the slant. I wish Romo would throw it more in front of him though so he can catch the pass more in stride. Also, Bryant must protect the ball a little better after the quick throw.

One would suspect last year against the Lions where Dez talked before the game about being as good as Megatron might have a slight influence on this decision of his.

I thought the press baited him into that statement. If so, and this is the results, good for Dez learning.

Sometimes you just have to touch the hot stove to get the point. If so, and that was a teachable moment, then this kid is a lot more savvy than the press believed on draft day.

Did Dez ever say that? I thought he was saying that he's a great playmaker in his own right, which is true but it got blown out of proportion. I don't remember the exact quote and since looking it up means revisiting that game, well, never mind.

Is Sherman battling injuries or something? He's giving up a lot of yards and has as many TDs given up as INTs and PDs combined this year.

I remember people used to act like Dez was an idiot every time he opened his mouth. He's always seemed level-headed and highly conscious to me.

Dez is a cool, calm and collected cat. I've never seen someone get their character called into question for no reason more than this guy. And he always handles it like a pro. I've never seen anything more impressive from an athlete. Don't get me wrong, I love when Richard Sherman goes off on the haters, but he lets criticism get to him, unlike Dez. And he's never been called out on character. He's playing with a chip on his shoulder because he wasn't highly touted coming out of college, and he earned the right to trash talk. And he has dealt with ignorant comments on Twitter but only after he puts himself into the spotlight. Dez has never put himself into the spotlight and has still been called out in ugly ways from anyone and everyone. And he's never lost his cool. His self control is rare and impressive. I've never wanted someone to succeed more than this guy.

Dez may not even draw Sherman, as they play opposide sides. Dez should be lined up against Maxwell more so than Sherman. I don't think either team will change their game plans.

I was wondering about this. Dez will probably draw a double team and Sherman will take Terrance. Sherman typically doesn't swap sides. It means we are going to need a big game from Witten, Beasley and hopefully somebody else.

+ Big hands. That plays a big role into his success in the air.

Also ridiculous concentration and will power. In his interview after the game he was talking about the play call and Tony's throw. He said that Tony put the ball out there and he was just thinking that he had to do his part to get the ball. He has a tendency to drop an easy one every once in a while but he just seems to will himself into catching those impossible balls.

"Truth be told, I don't compare myself to nobody," Bryant said Monday during an appearance on 103.3 FM ESPN in Dallas. "I think Calvin's the best at what he [does]. I think I'm the best at what I do."

Bryant said Johnson's run-after-catch ability and the way he attacks the ball in the air are especially impressive. However, asked what Johnson could do that he couldn't, Bryant paused for several seconds before answering.

"I believe I can do whatever he can do," Bryant said. "I think it's just a pride thing. When it comes to football, just being on the field, it's a mindset and having a mentality. I honestly believe when I'm there, I'll be feeling like there's nothing I can't do. Whatever the coaches ask me to do, I'm going to do it.

"I always feel like there's more. I think that's just a mindset you're supposed to have."

He said it, but it was also blown out of proportion. Because it could be, and that's what the media does where it can.

I think Dez has been neutralized most of the games so far (outside of few late TD catches) and this has humbled him a little.

Not so sure, looks like some decent stats to me.
I think many of times, for many different players, for all teams. People expect these guys to be supermen...they are not, there are good and bad games, and some of those so called bad games are... just the way the cookie crumbles....

Just because he hasn't gone off for 15 catches, or 200 yards or 3 TD's in a game yet, makes him neutralized. He does have blocking assignments too.
