Not only does it not make sense from a cap perspective, it doesn’t make sense from a talent perspective. You get better by filling in weaknesses not cutting the best player you have at their position.

We have some posters that have always hated Dez even before we drafted him. They have been waiting years to be able to come here and feel redeemed. You know who they are.. the folks that like to attack him personally on occasion claiming he is a “thug” or that he is an idiot who would be in prison if not for football...

A few months ago these racist were allowed to expose themselves in a no rules forum and boy did they..
They now have to dance around their hate with these threads.

So these people wanted to replace Dez with a white WR?
 
Dez doesn’t get doubled per guys on this forum except on that 80 yard TD to Smith when the safety didn’t even bother to look at Smith even once but went straight to Dez off the IN route leaving Rod all that open space..

If they could they would..but racism is much more complex than that.
I said what needed to be said and I will leave it at all. People can fill in the blanks how they want. Maybe we have the old hateful forum archived and people can read for themselves.

Cute attempt at defending your brothers though..
 
So Dez is done because of drops? A mental aspect of the game?

A simple look at the cap hit next year tells you there’s no way he gets cut. The dead money is enormous.

2019 does offer an out if they were to cut him. My guess is he plays out the last two years of his contract and either comes back on a friendly UFA deal or leaves at the age of 31.

You guys are pitiful in your dogging of Dez. It really is pathetic to go after a guy who gives it all out there. It is obvious he is pressing and the cause for the drops which he has never had a problem with before. I really am glad you guys don't make decisions for the franchise!

People never cease to amaze me.
 
Once you accept the fact he isn’t a type of receiver to get you 100 to 150 yards a game instead he will get you four to five catches and touchdown or two. Also opens up a lot for other players as teams focus on him more than anyone else on offense besides Zeke

Yes it makes a ton of sense from a cap perspective.

All of his salary gets added to the cap if he stays.

Dead-Money is money that has already been paid and hits the cap with or without the player on the team. The fact that it accelerates into the near-year when the player is cut is irrelevant because the total is the same regardless of which year it hits.

People like to confuse cap issues in regards to cutting players but in reality it is very simple. The player's salary will be added to the overall multi-year cap total if he stays and his salary will not hit the cap if he is cut.

For Dez the Cowboys eliminate 12.5M from the overall multi-year cap total if they cut him.
 
Cowboys should swap Dez with Cooper or Crabtree and then we can see WRs that really cause teams to lose because of their drops on a weekly basis.

Dez will have career numbers with a guy like Carr..

That is wrong. Did you see how the announcers pointed out the double coverage on Beasley. That is possible because they don't double Dez.
