People that say Dez isn't playing to his talent level, well he can only play as well as the ball-thrower.

Not saying that I disagree with you, but the ball thrower isn't going to throw to the receiver if the receiver isn't playing to his talent level.

Chicken-egg debate.

Most people who call NFL players "soft" are as you described.

I can kind of understand calling a player soft compared to other players (not that I agree with doing so). But Dez isn't soft in any kind of way. Ask any defender who's played against him if they think he's soft, and I'd guarantee they say the exact opposite.

The guy got 6 targets. And is only averaging about 8 over the last 4. He's turned those 8 targets a game into 88 yards and a TD on average.

Dez has been a good soldier because he's been under-fed for his talent level.
And Dak still struggles to see the field and deliver fast timely and accurate balls on occasion.

What is most encouraging is that Dez is getting open running crisp routes. Last week he embarrassed Norman on a double move and Dak never saw him. This week he smoked Harrison on a different double move for a big play that led to our first touchdown. He of course caught our 2nd touchdown. In a game we only scored 17 points Dez had his hands all over the game...in again...only 6 targets.

All in all there isn't a team or fanbase in the NFL who doesn't want a Dez Bryant on their team...except for a few stragglers here on the zone.

Everyone please read this post.

It's very easy to say Dez isn't elite when he doesn't get the volume that other guys get.

Our offense has always been about making reads and taking what the defense gives based on coverages.

@xwalker has to be furious at Dez's route running, play-making and maturity. His post game interview was a joy to watch. Where has @xwalker been over the last month on Dez?

I am sure @xwalker will be ready to post the next time Dez drops a ball (probably has the post and paragraph saved on a word document ready to go).

Perfect.

Wow. Just finished it.

Just, wow.

Everyone, if you watch that video posted by SD (post 37) and don't respect our Warrior Dez, I may have to pull your fan card (exception to @xwalker, he's just stubborn, but he's a wizard, so he's exempt).

You folks on my ignore list, watch that. Eat your crow, and crawl back to your cave. Or admit you were wrong. The two of you never will, so crawl back to your cave.

Dez, so humble. Elite. Thanks, SD. What a special team.

I'm really happy to see him and dak on the same page and to be linking up with regularity. He's not putting up any crazy numbers, but he's playing consistent, coming up big when necessary, scoring regularly and providing that lethal presence that is needed.

Very happy
Completely agree...been saying the same thing for a few weeks now regarding their growing chemistry. Here's an observation though that is somewhat ironic...there have been 3 games now where they've connected on big deep plays (at least of what I can recall): Philly, Burg, and yesterday. Against the Steelers, it was a connection well into the flow of the game (second half) when the offense was starting to get on its typical second half role. In the Philly game and last night, the deep connections were relatively early on in the action...I think Philly was 1st quarter and yesterday was 2nd. Which leads me to my thought/question...do you think the early deep passes changes something in the psychological approach to the offense? There were some similarities in both the Eagles and Vikings games where our offense seem to get away from some of its core competencies in the passing game (e.g., ignoring Cole and Witt for long stretches, etc.). Yes, I understand that Eagles/Vikings represent stout defenses...BUT, it was uncanny how the early big play to Dez seem to correlate to us being out of synch offensively for much of the rest of the game (the exception of course being the 4th quarter and OT of the Eagles match-up).

Certainly not enough evidence around which to form a theory but I think it bears watching. While Dak didn't "force" the ball to Dez by any means against the Vikes vs. his elevated attempts to Dez in the Eagles game, there were times last night where I was surprised he held the ball for so long in the pocket seemingly in search of the big play down the field. Is he influenced by the early success and thus it alters his approach (i.e., he's wanting to go for more)? Did the tape of how he came off of a wide open Dez too soon in the TG game and thus he wanted to give the deep pass more time to develop? It's only too games and it could be merely coincidental but last night's game got me to thinking once we starting looking so disheveled after that early success.

I love watching him and Irvin together. The before the game hug and talk was also cool. Proud "Papa" and complete homer.

Glad you pointed this out. Couldn't agree more. I think he's playing the best ball of his career right now -- maybe even by a wide margin. The numbers don't necessarily support it due to a variety of factors, but his routes seem crisper, his focus crisper, etc. Just love what he's doing.

I have had negative thoughts about him in the past. He is really coming around though and changing my thinking. He seems to be a true team first guy.,Throw up that X!

Funny what being healthy does for a player especially 1 who had a broken foot and a fracture in his knee. I would think those 2 injuries robbed him of his speed and power, and that is why he didn't look good.

You'd think that would be common sense, but strangely enough folks here thought our most dynamic player over the past 6 years and one of the most dangerous and productive receivers in the league was suddenly and coincidentally exposed as sucking as he was severely injured.

Weird
