Dez is a polarizing figure, so people when he's not productive, he gets a lot of blame that is often undeserved.

YR

Dez hasn't produced like an elite receiver since he signed his big contract. Not much that's been posted about him the past week has been undeserved. He needs to start producing soon or his declining play is going to be a big topic of discussion on the Networks.

Dez hasn't been fine so far which is why so many threads have been started about him since Sundays opener.

He cant throw the ball to himself and so far means 1 game.

if he has 3 catches after 3 games then something is up, but for now he left a bunch of TD's on the field because the qb is young.

When you play a young qb you are developing him at the teams expense for the most part. The more Dak plays the more the team will suffer while I imagine Dak gets a little better.

He signed his contract in the summer of 2015 dude. He had no offseason, got hurt in the opener and played through a miserable injury with qb's who didn't get him the ball just like sunday.

The one game him and romo played together romo hit him for the go ahead score late at Miami.

if tony don't come back pretty soon there wont be any season to come back to like all rookies dak has to learn and the team usually loses while he does.

This is exactly it. People are misinterpreting the reality of the situation for attacking Dak.

Its not that, its that teams in this situation do not win, nor does this one.

I believe Romo will play vs Cincy because I think we will be 1-3 or 0-4 and he will know at that point if we lose to Cincy and GB the season will be over.

btw if the season is over before Halloween...Good lord. Imagine this team pulling an o for heading into Cleveland in November. Scary and possible.

He would have to throw a jump ball to himself because that's about all he's been good for the past year. Something is up if he doesn't have a big game in the next couple of weeks and start living up to his contract. He wasn't paid for what he's done, he was paid to continue to be a very productive player. Some need to stop using our QB situation as an excuse for Dez's lack of production. His first 100 yard game as a rookie came with Jon Kitna. He caught 3 TD's with Kitna at QB his rookie year. His only 100 yard game last season came with Matt Cassel. Dak completed 25 passes on Sunday and only one of those was to Dez.

So you are doubling down on dez can't get open when you can simply look up and see him wide open in 3 or 4 different plays. He should have had at least two TD's.

blaming the qb sunday is 100% accurate. He is a rookie and he will continue to struggle.

i posted examples from the game of dez in the slot running wide open over the middle, dez in the slot running a double move and wide open, dez in the slot with off coverage and winning immediately to the inside and the ball going to another player.

what could he have done sunday? You are speaking in generics because that is what you have heard all week. Dez cant get open, dez needs to be in the slot blah blah blah.

He had no offseason because he was looking to get paid and hasn't produced since getting paid. He's lucky he got paid because had he signed the franchise tag he would have never gotten paid after the injury and season he had. After foot and ankle surgery no way would Jerry have paid him. If he needs Romo to produce we're in trouble. Witten is Romo's BFF but that didn't stop him from catching 9 balls from Dak on Sunday.

He was standing all alone in one of those pictures, appeared the Giants stopped worrying about him. lol I don't blame our QB situation because Witten and Beasely produced, they combined for 17 catches.

1. He was injured last year. He broke his foot for crying out loud.

2. We saw why he didn't produce against the Giants. He was basically used as a decoy and Dak missed two TD passes.

He's a player that the media loves to attack. They attacked him for a 'video' that was alleged to be '10x worse than Ray Rice' and it never existed. Then you have the Seattle-Lockett nonsense, etc. and anytime he doesn't produce...regardless if it's fault or not...he's going to get the blame.

Put it this way, if he's playing for Arians, he goes nuts on the NFL.

After our loss last week there was a lot of shade thrown at Dez. Including by me saying that he needs to take it up a notch, and when he's the best player on the field, he needs to play like it. We've discussed Garrett's inability to scheme him open, we've discussed Dez being taken out of games too frequently, and even discussed Dez not being the same receiver as before his injury, and possibly even turning into the next Hakeem Nicks.

Let's stop it. Right now. The dude has the competitive fire of Michael Irvin, the physical leaping ability and ability to high point a second to no receiver in the league, and a solid offense around him.

We need him to come up big this year, and he will. Week 1 will hands down be his worst game of the year, and I don't think we see another game this year where he has less than 4 catches.

He will come to play, and lead this offense this year. He's our best player, and will play like it.

I expect him to be held under 60 with 1 TD this week. He won't "take over the game," but he'll do ok.

from watching some of the steelers washington game film i think Dallas should have success running the ball this week. 37% chance of thunderstorms could also be a big part. If its hot, humid and raining the running game should kick the snot out of a good but not great front 7 in washington.

The washington players are already talking about how good there game plan is and how if they stop the run and make them one dimensional they will have success, So I expect them to attack like NY but they do not have the athletes NY does and I am going to go on record and say there will be some serious creases to run through sunday.

Williams is always good against washington also. I am scared of an inaccurate rookie qb trying to force the ball to 88 this week with norman and hall back there.

Beasely and Witten need to make plays to keep the other team honest.

The problem with this is all their plays are made in a short area, shrinks the field, and concentrates defenders. That all puts defenders closer to the LOS and makes it more difficult to run as well. Plays have to be made down field to counter act this problem. Defenses will take Beasley and Witten on the short stuff all day long.

If you told me that this weekend I could get 8 yards for every Beasely catch. I'd take it today.

Dallas better move him to the other side of the field. Because JN will shut him down. We cant go 2 straight weeks allowing the opponent take him out of the game.
We take what the defense gives us so if they don't give us Dez we look elsewhere.

What? You don't have confidence in Coach Clapper?

I thought all the criticism of Dez was helpful.

It crystallized very clearly my opinion of folks that think they're knowledgable.

A $70M receiver who's
suppose to be the most explosive offensive weapon we have being used as a decoy? Lol It was being posted last season that his lack of production was due to him being used as a decoy because he was injured. Garrett was asked last season during one of his pressers if Dez was being used as a decoy and you could tell he was insulted by the question. He denied he was being used as a decoy. I got news for you if he was being used as a decoy on opening day vs a divisional opponent then the Cowboys are either the dumbest team in the league or Dez still isn't right.

As for any TD's that were missed it was missed by Dez because he allowed the ball to come loose when he hit the ground. He just can't seem to understand that you have to
hang on to the ball all the way to the ground or you risk having it called incomplete. He gets all the hard parts down as far as going up and catching the damn thing but he can't hold on to it when he hits the ground. He has hands the size of tennis rackets you would think he could hang onto the ball with mitts like that.
