On the Cowboy's roster maybe, but I guarantee you, some team like San Francisco would gladly give him 12 mil +. And I guarantee he would thrive again with an accurate QB throwing to him.

Two safest bets I think are that Dez will be here this here and won't be here next year.

There are 20 teams with more than 12m in cap space. The Browns have 70m. The Texans have 30m. The idea that no one will have money to pay Dez is ridiculous.

Just because you heard this "contracts these Wrs signed" on Tv doesnt justify Dez's contract. They had a segment on NFLN a couple weeks ago and lined DEz's production aup against another players who had the same type of production for the past 3 years and it was Jermaine Kearse 3 yrs 13.5mil and 4.5mil a yr.

Something def has to be done about this contract. Dez has been talking about he earned all this money. The team has earned for him to take one of the team aswell, when they saved his career when he couldnt get out of his own way.

Its easy for us fans to say this, and until Dallas says this its really a non factor.

Dez will take less money than he is currently scheduled to make because Dallas will pay more than everyone else.

    Is this good or bad?

Good. Beause you still have him at a cheaper rate. How good? That depends on Dez and Dak and if they are going to build a chemistry. If not then why have him on the team

But you are still overpaying. If the rest of the league and it's cumulative cap space won't front the money, how is it a good idea for Dallas to front the money?

Lemme guess, Dez is an overpriced bargain? He's so worth more than anyone else is willing to pay that Dallas would be stupid to pass on such cheap deal.

Dallas has $4M in SB money attributed to this year. Cap dollar for cap dollar, that gives every other team an advantage.

It's irrational to say that Dez isn't worth X cap dollars to the rest of the league, and then to follow that statement by saying he is definitely worth X + $4M to Dallas. X + $4M is what Dallas has to take to provide an equal salary compared to a team that doesn't have SB proration and just signs him to a 1-year deal.

This is a textbook example of having it both ways.

History would agree with you. Who is the last player that Dallas tried to put the squeeze on well after free agency started? I can't name that player.

Well its like this. Dallas made its bed and now they gotta lay in it. How they do that is up to them and Dez to figure out. But the team has nobody to blame but themselves. They saw the 3 previous yrs of Dez production and paid him, nobody knew he would have the drop off he did. 2015 Romo went down, 2016 Dallas had huge success by taking what the defense gave them and allowing a rookie QB to look for the open guy. The problem came in 2017 when it just looked like the team was trying to force the ball to Dez and that had a huge negative impact.

Oh look another dez thread. Dez doesnt have to do anything that is not already in his contract.

"With an accurate QB throwing to him"? What was Dak, sliced turkey? Here, get properly informed and truly appreciate that Dak is our QB.

    Exactly

576m in cap space is available league wide

That is the opposite of drying up

Dez cost the most to the team last year and it was not good. I can't possibly see how the bean-counters are able to convince management that Dez is worth his salary this coming season. It's just not feasible.

If you are a team with a super accurate QB, that can place the ball for what he is best at.... high pointing circus catches, you keep him. He will never get college type separation... So I agree... if we are keeping Dak... Then keeping Dez makes no sense financially.

They make our cap space look good lol... But I could see SF snagging him in a heartbeat.
