I didn't think it would be this difficult to get a deal done.

It seems the sides are further apart than we thought or a deal would already be in place

I would not be surprised if Dez plays on the tag and we draft WR in Rd 1 next year

Well, if the Cowboys were willing to take an OL in the 1st round this year, a direct quote from the owner, then WR has to be in play next year.

I'd be for it if the right player is there.

Yeah who wants Dez for the long haul?

This post contains a lethal dosage of sarcasm.

Not sarcasm
I would want Dez for the long haul but reading the tea leaves it seems the FO does not want to pay him what he has asking for, maybe it is off field stuff, maybe it is his back or maybe just too much money in 1 player who is not the QB

There's no doubt in my mind that Dez wants to be a good teammate but is wanting enough? He's allowing his greed for more dough to compromise his attendance and that's far from being a good thing. Granted, both sides sorely need to find common ground for a solution. Here's hoping a solution develops but for the time being, the situation could admittedly be better. I simply don't believe getting a franchise tag warrants his non-attendance.

It was Jerruh that said himself if Dez takes care of business and performs he would be rewarded upwards the hundred million - Calvin Johnson range. Now that Dez held up his end of the bargain they won't hold theirs?

Do you know the numbers the FO has offered?

The FO now has a salary structure in place like Patriots and other excellent teams.
Whatever pay Dez plays under he'll play well and get rich.
