I have to admit I will worry a little about Dez when he gets all that money. He just seems like he would be careless with it and may get into some type of trouble.........

For the record, the Patriots and Seahawks just to the Super Bowl without any great receivers.

Gronk is a pretty good receiver.

And Seattle had one of the best defenses of all-time. That's all.

Thanks for the offer to help, but you can keep it.

Your opinion of the situation is no more the truth than mine.

You thought it would be done before the tag for 11m and 30 guarnteed. lol that's not even close. Dez wants cj type money. His agent would be a bad agent if he didn't seek cj type money. You say it doesn't matter what a player wants. I say obviously it does because he isn't signed yet. If it was as simple as you think it is it would've been done by now. A discount for dez would him taking 14m a year and 40m guarnteed. It's not gonna happen.

Romo wanted to keep Murray so...

while true, he was also in the club to go and get Collins...and, you HAVE to think he has had some say in building an OLine...Murrray had a great year, no question, but it was a great year...Romo lives and dies with Witten and Dez...

How does it "seem" like he's going to get into some kind of trouble? The same kind of trouble he's been getting into the last few seasons?

You keep talking like you know what is going to happen. You don't.

What I said was that 7/88 with 30m should get it done. If Dez wants higher he probably won't get it here. I didn't say he should take it, unless he wants to be part of something special in Dallas.

If he wants top money he should move on. Time will tell if he is prepared to.

I didn't think it would be this difficult to get a deal done.

Neither did i.

I like the approach the front office is taking regarding the cap and the draft.

I figured they would have ironed something out by now but if the money isn't right the money isn't right.

Dallas has held the hard line with DWare, Murray, Free/Parnell, McClain, Hardy, Melton, Carter and OScan.

They have shown no interest in overspending without value- Romo, TSmith, Lee, Church and OScan.

It was Jerruh that said himself if Dez takes care of business and performs he would be rewarded upwards the hundred million - Calvin Johnson range. Now that Dez held up his end of the bargain they won't hold theirs?

They had a Cowboy for life deal ready to do in the middle of last season. Then Dez changed agents and his support structure and backed away from the deal. He has a right to do that and it may even have been the right thing to do. However, to say the Cowboys won't make a big commitment to him is wrong. Now the issue is about price and guaranteed dollars.

It is not about the Cowboys not wanting him or about respect, but about dollars and getting to a price/structure both sides can agree upon.

30m is more than 2 years of being tagged and is more than any WR that isn't CJ.

CJ was a fluke because of his rookie deal and shouldn't be used as comparison or starting point for any negotiation.

There has been a HUGE correction in the WR market and no one wants to set sign until that changes. But DThomas, Dez, JJones and AJ Green are eventually going to have to sign.

The crop of rookie WRs is getting better every year.

Sounds great. But he isn't taking 30m guarantee. Lol him and his agent doesn't care about the cj mistake. Not their problem. Plus that was 3 or 4 yrs ago. He'd be signed if he would take 30 m.

You can keep lol'ing all you want but he isn't getting 53m guaranteed or 16m like CJohnson

If he wants Calvin Johnson money I think we are looking at Dez getting franchise tagged this year and next, and then the team moving on.

Bottom line is Dez will not sit out this season...so he will either sign the offered franchise tag, or arrive at a cap constructive new offer.

I have no problem with Dez not going to OTA or mini camp until he either gets his deal done or signs the tag. Dallas 1st mandatory work out is in July once the deadline is past for the tag to be signed. I have little doubt Dez will sign that tag as most all other players facing the franchise tag will do. Meantime he is at Valley Ranch working out and has supportive of the new guys who have signed or been drafted by the Cowboys. I don't see anything negative in what he is doing, just business.

I do think the fact that Demaryius Thomas is in the same situation is dragging this thing out. I have little doubt that Dallas does not want to be the one to set the market.

Stephen Jones said during his conference call. He wished he could report progress. but there were other factors in play. That other WR's are in the same situation, and mentioned Thomas. And said next year there will be several others added to the list.

So it sounded like, to me, they are perfectly fine with Dez playing under the FT this year. But still prefer a long term deal.
