Hes performed at an elite level 5 out of 6 years. So.......
If you look at yardage only yes............but prior to even 2 years ago, he would float a route a few yards deeper and cause a game ending int. for Romo. Even to date, he is limited to outside position for 90% of his snaps.......coaches decision--or playbook absorbtion. Regardless it really lets a over/under coverage limit him at key points. His standing and jawing with the Panthers cb last year, as a cb after a INT. came running right back at him for a Pik 6 really brings into question when to talk trash and when to zip it and play the game.

When 82 talks trash its a good thing
When 88 talks trash its a problem.

Interesting.
Never saw 82 continue to trash talk when a opposing player with a INT. runs right back at him.............Dez stood jawing with the panthers cb and let the pik 6 essentially happen.........there is a time to jaw, and a time to play team ball.

Of the close to 500 targets Dez got between 2010 and 2013, only 7 were intercepted.

473 tgt 293 rec 4101 yd 40 td 7 int 111.9

Of Dez's 126 targets beyond 15 yards, only 2 were intercepted.

126 tgt 52 rec 1630 yd 11 td 2 int 111.0

The list below is based on targets of 15+ yards from 2010-13. 11 players had at least 100 of those deeper targets, 1500 yards, 10 TD, and caught at least one third of the passes intended for them at that distance. Next to the name is their number of targets per interception.

2010-13
Bryant 63.0
White 36.0
Bowe 28.6
Thomas 27.8
Lloyd 21.9
Marshall 20.7
CJohnson 19.4
Wallace 16.0
VJackson 14.8
Green 13.1
DJackson 13.0

From 2010-13, Dez not only wasn't a big INT risk, he was actually in a league of his own in that category, with that kind of production. And if you think that's all because of Romo, look at the receivers with the most targets over Romo's career, with number of targets per INT.

all target distances
Bryant 37.8
Witten 35.6
Austin 32.3
Owens 18.8

deeper throws (+15 yards only)
Bryant 26.9
Austin 24.2
Witten 16.1
Owens 12.0

15+ yards (without 2015)
Bryant 32.8
Austin 24.2
Witten 19.0
Owens 12.0

Interesting.
I have read that 82 talked trash so bad to one guy that the media folks were feeling bad for the guy he was abusing. lol

I love trash talk, especially when the guys who do it back it up.

Exactly 82 talks trash at a nuclear clip in comparison to 88.

Sounds like Sean Lee said something along the lines of "do you ever get tired of running your " ing" mouth
