This thread is more about seeing what happened than it is about making excuses.

  1. Karney had 3 TD's... before that game = none
  2. We didnt tackle well.
  3. We missed assignments
  4. We didnt run the ball, we didnt try and control the tempo of the game
My question is: How many BIG "bad" plays were there? and of those, how many were we right there to make a play... and didnt?

I remember Bill saying we were "right there" for a play to be made and we didnt make it...

anyone have a breakdown or just remember from watching the game?

The reason I ask is.... we wont play that COMPLETELY bad again. IMO

You know Yo Mick,

I'm in the frame of mind that it was a really bad performance and we did stink it up, These Saints are not the 89 Bears by any stretch of the imagination, I really think its the way of the NFL parity right now, Honestly, I think were a very young team that needs some adversity, And as much as it hurts us fans to watch demoralizing game like this, The most important thing is how we come back against these Falcons, And I deleted that game after the onside kick, too Angry to watch it again.

no one can watch the game on tv again and know the mistakes.

We dont know the linebacker or secondary's assignments.

Just like on offense, steve mariucci blamed the interception of romo on romo staring down glenn, but then parcells said yesterday that the wr on the other side ran the wrong route...ie meaning that the slot should have taken the safety out of the middle there and romo was counting on that.

Me, in the stadium I thought he threw the ball to flat and had he put more air under it would have been at least incomplete! When I got home I saw it again and still feel the same way but it would have been picked regardless I think.

All I can say is if Chris Cooley of the Commanders can have the success he's had against the Cowboys and now a somewhat similar situation with Karney, if I was playing us and had a big FB and/or H-back...I'm game planning for it.

We were thouroughly outcoached and outplayed. It wasn't so much about mistakes as it was that we simply got our butts kicked. The only mistake was to go into a big game like this so ill-prepared.

I think that pretty much sums it up

you dont get beat like we did because of a couple of "mental errors" or "lapses in concentration"...had we lost 28-21 or something you could claim that, but not the way we did

Maybe I am not asking the right way....

there were plays where per Bill "we were right there to make them and we didnt"

I was refering to those plays for the most part...

One of the reasons I think is that the defensive players want an aggressive defense like the one they played against the colts but Parcells/Zimmer want a vanila prevent defense, afraid of the big play.

So the players the playing this defense willing to die slowly even though their hearts/mind doesn't agree with this philosophy

Let's see...

Um..the play that Davis tried to intercept with bad position after Henry passed him off.. which ended in a TD

The pass that Bradie James didn't get quite in the right spot and then Roy charged for the front shoulder.. Brees threw it to the back shoulder causing Roy to look silly for a TD

Demarcus Ware just barely missed the tackle on the end around on 4th and 1

The pass to Glenn that was picked off.. Romo has to get the ball out there a little more

Same thing on 1 or 2 passes to TO that sailed too far outside

With that said.. I still haven't seen them come up with a way to defend the short pass in the flats... the LB's drop about 10 yards and the whole underneath is open all day it seems..
