So did anyone earn a roster spot tonight?

IMO Dak is the #2 QB now, no question.

Did Brice Butler? Some here think he did, I still think the WR spots come down to the last day.

Did Jameill Showers? I thought he played well considering he was with the 2nd and 3rd string, the best scenario for the team is for him to be on the Practice Squad another year but I don’t think he makes it because there is so little QB talent in the league. He has great mobility and a strong arm, he isn’t Dak but he looks like a guy with upside.

Did Darius Jackson? I think he did, he showed enough that other teams would definitely claim him on waivers. We also have the option to keep DMC and/or Dunbar on the PUP to start the season.

Did Shanell Jenkins? He is active and powerful, he could be a beast after a year in the weight room. He may also be too good to expose to waivers but not good enough to beat out Maliek Collins.

I thought Kavon Frazier and Jerimiah McKinnon looked good in the secondary, though McKinnon is likely a PS guy.

The last wr spot was between Lucky, Street, Andy Jones. Butler was not getting cut.

No question on Dak.

Butler to me has pretty much been a lock, so I don't think tonight was what did it.

Showers looked very meh again. We said Dak looked better last week since he had the starters....well he did it with the backups too. Prescott is WAY ahead of Showers.

Jackson really hasn't done anything to say he can't be stashed on the PS. He has decent yardage but he has carried it a lot. I really haven't seen him make his own way. I don't think Dunbar or McFadden just get kicked to the wayside and I don't think Jackson has done anything to get plucked. Heck, Miami's runners had some explosive plays but I am not ready to claim any of them.

Jenkins to me is a yes. He has made plays, that is what they always say they are looking for. Russell looked better tonight too but Jenkins just flashes.

McKinnon never turned on the second TD pass to Stills...would have liked to see him make a play on that. Frazier was a bit better tonight but I don't know if he knocks Wilcox off the team.

Butler, Showers, Jackson, Frazier all looked like final 53 guys to me already.

Jenkins has to be the one who made the team tonight. No way you can cut him now.

I think that Romo guy made the team but I think he is going to have his hands full holding that Dak guy.

Nah he's the reason Dallas hasn't won a SB yet and he's not even a top 10 qb. - most NFL fans

Sure, but just because you hit the jackpot on Dak doesn't mean you have to get rid of Showers. A good backup QB has a lot of value and Showers looks like he could do that as early as 2017.

We aren't that far removed from all the posts saying Romo would never play again, I would like to see Showers on the PS but I can also see him on the 53 man roster this year. He showed the skills tonight, you can't really judge him when he is throwing to 3rd string WRs and dodging a pass rush that got by our 3rd string OL.

I have a feeling may keep 3Qbs. Would Showers clear waivers to make it to the PS?

I just have a feeling there's a team or two that could be interested in Showers, especially SF.

Guess we'll have to cut our depth on DL if you guys want a 3rd qb and 6th receiver.

What about something like this?

3 QB
5 RB
0 FB
5 WR
9 OL
3 TE

3 Special Teams

5 DE
5 DT
6 LB (Gachkar cut)
5 CB
4 S (Wilcox cut)
